Question about JVC AV-48WP30 48" Rear Projection Television
The colors as well as the brightness of the picture on my JVC I-art 48 inch rear projection have degraded, the picture is still clear but everything seems to have a greenish tint or red depending on how I try to ajust it. The brightness also look less that what it use to be. I had the convergence ship replace last year. the Tv is about 6 years old. Which component is not working prorely and what can I do to fix it
I had a problem with my TV colors not lining up. One day I turned it on and the green was out of wack. I checked this message board and replaced the STK chips, bad soldering and all led to me just giving up on that and buying a whole new Convergence Board ($185). I just plugged this in and though now my Green lines up okay, my red is out of whack. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can anyone help me? Did i miss a step? Frustrated......Bruce

You will need to replace the convergence iCs there are two of them they are both STK392-110 Ics you will also need the JVC convergence resistor kit. You can get the ICs and resistor kit at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures. Heres the link.

The clicking sound is the TV trying to restart itself. It generally attempts this several times before giving up. The blinking code indicates the type of error (error codes are documented in the manual for the TV). The most likely cause is a burned out bulb, but could be something else.
If it is a bulb, it is usually replaceable without a service technician, and at a cost far less than $450.

You need to pull the front grill cover/panel off the front of the tv. Remove screws (4) from back that hold it on, also 2 small ones behind front video input door. Then remove access panel. The ckt board closest to you is the convergence amplifier board. You should replace both amplifiers (stk392-110 or 120) and any burnt/open resistors you find near the amps.(use the same value resistors as the corresponding resistors in the blue amp ckt)
