F1 Error Codes

Constantly receiving this code when starting different cycles. I know others have too.

Has anyone gotten any relief from this or found an answer without having to call Sears? Seems like Sears just makes you pay for repair and the problem resurrects itself again.

Thanks

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but its the machine/motor control unit (circuit board). if you don't want to involve sears to get them to pay a portion of the bill, then go to searspartsonline and order one yourself. you'll need your model number to get the right part number ECU (which should be W10189966 rev A) which will run you about $150. replacing it is relatively easy is you're handy at home. sears service will charge you another $130 to install it. this will fix the F1 problem.

not sure if sears has finally recalled this washer. if they finally do, then all our problems go away (yeah, right).

E pa au u5 5e

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you are receiving multiple error codes on your Frigidaire Affinity washer, model# FAHE4044MW. I see that the error codes showing are "E", "PA", "AU", "U5", and "5E". I suggest resetting your washer, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. When you restore power, start any cycle on your washer. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

My machine stops and blink f1

unfortunately the only thing you cud look for in errors in washing machines is whether the door is closed properly or not. beyond that u will hav to look for a service technician the codes can be deciphered only by a service technicians of that particular company as error codes differ from company to company. The only thing I cud say is that there is a malfunction of one of the components in the machine sorry but if u hav the manual see if the error code u mention is listed in the manual

Being your local Sears repair man, I feel your pain. I also hate telling people that they will have to replace a very expensive board like that, but unfortunatly, that F1 code is usually a death sentence, especially to that model. try this, sometimes you can get lucky. Unplug the machine for about 10 minutes, then plug it back in. Thats about the only way you can "reset" the unit. You can also try to run a diagnostic test. Push and hold any button (besides the start, power, or cancel) for 3-5 seconds, then let go for 3-5 seconds, then push and hold same button again for 3-5 seconds, repeat this procedure until 88 displays on the control (or all lights come on on non-display models). If you have a display, it will read to you all failure codes (you will have to push the same button you used in the diagnostic start to move through all codes), then unit will start diagnostic tests when all codes have been retrived. If you have a non-display model, you will need the tech sheet (located behind the bottom panel or inside the machine on one side in an envolope). Each light will come on displaying a certian code, which you will then have to read the tech sheet to match the light configuration to its coresponding code. Wow, i think I have a headache, do it a couple times a day. If it is your board, one recomendation, check EBAY or online sales stores. They are a ton cheaper, and you can change the board easily yourself. Remove the top, wire to wire to the new brd, your on your way. Good luck, and let me know how it turns out.
