Sounds like you are overtaking the power supply with the upgraded video card. 250 Watt is pretty much an entry level PWS, with most systems and upgraded Video I suggest a 400 watt PWS or higher

If there would be no increase in performance, no need to do upgrade. try to check the performance of your computer using BENCHMARK softwares.
