Had a look at the manual on a BFX750 patio heater and the distance required is 50cm above (18") and 60cm to the side (24"). If its the same type with around 13kw or 44,000BTU/h of power then this is the clearance is needed for air and heat.

How much does the hss-a-ss stainless steel patio heater cost?

There are many generic patio heaters that use standard model codes, it can be very difficult to find who the supplier is. HSS or SS is a standard Chinese factory code, to find a price and supplier take a look locally or via the web and ask for Chinese patio heaters. Worth asking if they have a stainless steel burner, many just fit a chrome or tin plated burner, for more information found this very useful specialist patio heaters.

Start with the cylinder, make sure you have plenty of fuel, if down to the last bit it can slow right down. Make sure it's propane (butane will not work in cold weather) and check for leaks. Found this site very useful patio heater problem solving, they have lots of help pages.

Check what type of fuel, if using butane on cold days it will stuggle to stay alight, always use propane on outdoor patio heaters, propane will work in vvery low temperatures. If using propane check for leaks, do a leakage test, found this patio heater specialist site very useful.
