SOURCE: viking sewing machine 545 bobbin stuck on rewind
Most machines you slide the bobbin winder to the right to wind and then back to the left when your done to remove. Just making sure.... you did move it back to the left?

SOURCE: the needle on my sewing machine will not move up
You are jammed up with thread or material. Clean it out, rethread, wind a new bobbin. Oil your machine and put in a new needle. When you sew, hold the thread ends when you first start out sewing for about 4-5 stitches. Read your manual, watch your dvd on instructions

Totally unwind the bobbin by hand to loosen it, even a couple of drops of oil wont hurt, you wound it too tight. Next time, slow down.

SOURCE: hand wheel will not move
it would be a good idea to have the machine checked to see if there
is a damaged part in the machine.

We learned that it was the bobbin case which was improperly installed...I can't take it back because I bought it about 5 years ago, and that store went out of business. The gentleman at the repair store fixed it in 10 minutes, no charge :-)
Sorry, I thought you said it was "new." Very glad someone helped at no charge.... so rare these days. Maybe you should send him doughnuts or something. lol
Thank you for offering to help... I bought it years ago but never once used it. Now that I"m retired, I'm getting back into sewing. I did comment on that business's blog and also on Facebook, but donuts is an even better idea. Thank you!
