Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My memory is gone

Is your HDD gone? I don't understand what you mean about memory. Other than your HDD crashed. Get a new hard drive, and any downloads you got through PSN are automatically saved and can be recovered through account management on your PS3. All other data like photos, songs, and videos will be lost if you didn't back anything up. Good luck.

Hihi, I purchased Apollo Imation 2.5" portable HDD for quite some time. But now when i plugged it into my laptop, it tells me to format it. Formatting will erase the memory inside, thus is there...

Hi There,

Have you tried to open it on another computer?

I think if that doesnt solve it your hdd is corrupt and you will have to erase it. Dont worry though even if its formatted. No dont put ANYTHING on the HDD.

Go to this link.

choose a data recovery software. download and run this! it will take sometime. But you will have your files back! next time though make a back up!

Good luck

hi there,
I have good and bad news for you. The good news is that you can fix this, the bad..... you will loose all your data on the hdd(saved games, demos, music etc... :( ) You will ba able to recover any online details again like games, trophys, anything you've downloaded and/or paid for. so there are a couple of ways to do this restore of your hdd, the 1st(easiest) way is 1: put your system on standby(solid red light on the front) by powering it off from and on using the switch on the back of your console. Once on standby, hold down the power button on the front of the console until it powers off again. It will beep once and then twice and then power off, and release the button. now you are going to do the same thing again, hold down the power button again you will hear a beep, 5 seconds later a 2nd beep, another 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep, the second you hear this double beep, release the power button and you should get a screen up in front of you that says connect the ps3 controller using the usb cable, if you have this screen in front of you, then you have done the procedure correctly, if not just repeat the process until you get this screen up in front of you. once you connect the controller you will be in safe mode as its known, once you have pressed the ps button on your controller, you will get a screen with a list of options that you can perform, you want to select option 5(system restore) once selected opt for the long(full) restore and let the ps3 format your hdd. once this is done, may take a few hrs, your system should be good to go again. The other way of doing this is to remove the hdd from the ps3 and put it back in, then the system will format the hdd and you should be good to go. either way you will loose all your data i'm afraid thats on there. I said 1st method is easier as you do not have to remove the hdd physically, but you may not be bothered by this and choose this method anyway. Hope this helps

I have corrupted data on my file, i dont know how it got there in the first place, but i want to know how to get rid of the corrupted data without erasing my file

In regards to the address corrupted data on the PS3 hard drive the link below will help you address this. Note the first part takes you through the PS3 internal options but if these do not fix the problem then you will have to pull the hard drive and format it. After that if you still have trouble then you may need to replace the hard drive.

Wont start messages comes up saying correct hard disk not found

your hard drive may be dying. or the file system may be corrupted.

before you get a new hard drive there are some tricks to try.

#1 remove the HDD and boot it up without it in, then turn off and put the HDD back in and boot again.

#2 rebuild the file system in the recovery menu

#3 rebuild the database in the recovery menu

To get to the recovery menu you need to press and hold the power button when the ps3 is in standby mode untill you hear a double beep then release. sometimes the ps3 will go back to standby mode before it does the double beep if it does just release the button and press and hold again real fast and wait for double beep.

here is what mine does

ps3 standby(red light) press hold power...........beep...............beep.........standby again, release hold............beep..................double beep ..release power button.

from the recovery consol you can rebuild the file system and database sometimes when they are corrupted it has same symptoms as a dying HDD.

P.S. rebuilding the file system and database will not lose any of your ps3 data, other options will though like the restore ps3 and format HDD.
if the above tricks dont work try updating the firmware, if your at the current firmware you can re-install it from the recovery menu as well using a usb memory stick or a cd with the firmware on it.

if all that doesnt help it looks like its time to get a new HDD, but at least you can upgrade it to a bigger ps3 now. any sata laptop HDD should work. i think a 160gb HDD is only $50ish.

Corrupted Data on PS2 memory card

I don't know if you have been trying to delete the data with a game inside the ps2, but in case you have, try this.

Turn on the system WITHOUT a game inside, select BROWSER, the MEMORY CARD ICON, and i believe the corrupted data icon is a grayish black square. Choose options and then delete.
I am also heard that inserting a music cd will work as well, probably just has to not be a game inside the ps2.

Corrupted data comes from turning off the ps2, or removing the memory card while the game loads or saves data to/from memory card.
I really hope that helps, ps2's are meant to be played! Good luck.

File Allocation Table corrupted

I got rid of the problem on my own, please read below how I solved it.
Basically, the partition of hard drive was still there but with corrupted data about its files indexes. With a free HDD rescue tool I was able to identify the partition and fix the problems regarding its corrupted indexes (file allocation table and toc).
After fixing the problem, the device became fully working and there's no data loss.
