Got a Norcent LM 730 17" lcd monitor that repeaditly flashes very quickly, the power light stays on steady if the cord is removed from the computer there is no warning " no signal"
Was a surface mount diode that started to fail, it supplied part of the intial power up charge to the monitor, threw it away, kept the wall mount from it for another flat screen monitor - thanks for you reply

the inverter may be gone. its a common issue wuth samsungs might be with this monitor too. might also be something completely different like a back light but the first would be my guess.
if there is no power getting to the monitor ( indicator light ), test the fuse in the power lead first.Ensure it is inserted tightly. If there is power to the monitor, the green indicator light should be steady, if it is flashing there is a problem with the display
Test the monitor in another computer or laptop.
If t stays black , I'd supect a faulty backlight or more probably a blown power capacitor whih will need checking and replacing
I am having about the same problem with my monitor. The solution I was given, was to take my monitor to a repair shop and have them mess with the rubber behind the buttons, because they are sticking. Or save your $ and do it yourself.
From my experience, lines either vertical or horizontal in whatever color is an indicator of a failing screen or a bad cable...either the cable is going bad or there is a poor connection on one or more of the pins that either connects to the back of the LCD or the motherboard.
If the power button flashes, You probably have a bad power-inverter
board thats needs to be refurbished due to burned out capacitors and
possibly a transistor or two.
If the screen flashes and the power button stays steady, it could be the same thing or a bad bulb in the screen.

For some reason, it seems as if your monitor has either lost the video signal or the capability to interpret the siganl. If you have the ability, put a second monitor (or tv) to your computer. See if you get a video siganl. If you do, then your monitor has an internal issue with the signal and needs to be addressed "hands on" by a technician. If you do not see a video, then your problem lies within your video card. Good luck.
