Question about Hitachi UltraVision CineForm 55VG825 55" HDTV
I believe the problem has something to do with the aspect ratio. The top and bottom of the screen is cut off. I have tried adjusting with the "aspect ratio" button, but cannot seem to shrink the whole entire screen. Any suggestions or solutions?
Normallly, if the format button on the remote for the television does not achieve the desired affect, then, a cable box or a satelite box is where the change needs to be made. For example: A Motorola Cable box needs to be set up to go to a wide screen when an analog signal is detected. It's difficult to determine the repair without knowing the hook up of the peripherals. Hope this helps.

I have one of these TVs and I've noticed that they use a LOT of overscan when converting the image to the screen, so unless I'm in letterbox mode I tend to miss a lot from the top and bottom, not to mention the sides, so anyone who has this problem with this TV may be suffering from this rather archaic problem.
