Question about Toshiba SD-2800 DVD Player
I have burned a few home movies on DVD using DVD+R. They tend to skip and/or freeze in my Toshiba player, and not always in the same spot. Sometimes they will play all the way through without skipping. The DVD's play fine on my computer and on our older Sony DVD player. I have tried using a lens cleaner (CD Disk) twice, but I still get intermittent skipping.
Should I try a different brand of DVD?
Could it be the software I am using to burn the DVD's.
Is there a better way to clean the lens in my DVD player?

CD and dvd disc cleaners will not solve the problem, a deeper and delicate cleaning procedure by cleaning the lens manually with an cotton swab is needed...
Although the quality of newer discs is to be discussed.

If the laser is not dirty then it's probobly worn so will only play disc's if brand new.
You could get it fixed but would cost between $50 and $100
