Follow up on No DTV tuner after unplugging it a month for vacation. After I let it set plugged in for about 2-3 days it started working normally again and has been fine ever since. I hope this may help someone else. Genez 6-7-09

SOURCE: Vizio TV won't turn on
The power supply will be the first place to look, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.
Please post back what you find.

SOURCE: My Vizio remote doesn't work...
I know that on the Logitech Harmony Remotes, sometimes the infrared LED emitters go bad. Perhaps that is what is happening to your Vizio remote. If everything was working just fine but now none of the buttons work, it is probably your issue. You can test to see if the LED(s) are working by using a digital camera (or cell phone camera). Here is link that describes how to test to see if your IR emitters are working. Although you have a different model, you may be able to pick up a few tips from this article. Good luck!

SOURCE: my vizio flat screen tv
You have faulty electrolytic caps in the power supply section of the tv. Capacitors with reduced quantities of electrolyte take longer to charge compared to normal ones. That is the reason its coming on after you repeat the on/off sequence a few times. If you are not good at soldering, replacing the power supply should do the job. It should cost you about 75-100$. Let me know if you want to do it yourself(please get me the model number of the set as well so that I can find you a replacement).
