Question about Miele 24 in. G656SCi Plus SS Built-in Dishwasher
The fault happened last night flooding the kitchen overnight. now the mashine is constantly running the drainage pump (water in the bottom of the mashin). However I have noticed that the water is sipping slowly from the water inlet on the right hand side. If left for an hour or so it starts overflowing int othe kitchen. It looks like some valve does not cut off the supply. I have disconnected the water inlet house for the time being while I investigate.

SOURCE: Miele G638 dishwasher.
Hi John I have the same problem, the manual says that it is because the water level is to low, this is checked by opening the door after the machine has stopped filling and before it starts to wash, the level should be 4mm above the main plastic filter ring, the level has two settings, these can be adjusted by pressing the start button and the On/Off button at the same time, release the start button and turn the control to economy 45,if the start light does not come on the level is set to normal, to increase level press the start button again and the light should come on, this will give you an increased filling time. it did no help me but it may help you. good luck

check the rubber seal around the door to see if its torn or smashed. if it is replace it, could someone have set somthing heavy on the door while it was open that would have stressed the hinges. it is most likely one of these problems take a nail file and slid it gently between the door and the body of the dishwasher if it slides in easy where it leaks you know the seal is bad and replace it.

I had the same problem a few days ago. I followed the instructions to clean the filter and check to see that the impeller was free to rotate in both directions. The problem persisted. After reading this thread, and a similar one on another site, I tried what mikeboerma suggested in "solution #3", and bingo, problem solved. The magic combination is to push and hold the on/off button and the start/stop button.

THIS TYPE OF M/C PERMIT WATER TO FILL IN LONG TIME IF THE PRESSUR IS LOW
I THINK AFTER ABOUT 3 MINUIT YOU CAN OPEN THE DOOR AND CHECK OF LEVEL OF WATER TO ASSURE IS LEVEL OF WATER IS SUFFISUNT OR NOT

I had the same problem on a 5 year old model. It was the main pump leaking from a perished seal causing the water protection microswitch to trip. This gives the symptoms you describe exactly. Parts cost from Miele was about £60 for a new seal. Fairly easy to fit.
