Maytag refrigerator / freezer compressor fan not running and some items in freezer appear to be thawing

Recently pulled refrigerator away from wall to clean / paint wall. When restored to original position, heard clinking from compressor fan as if something were hitting fan. Noticed some items in freezer appear to be partially thawed and haven't heard/seen compressor fan start. Any suggestions would be appreciated. model MTF1955DRW top freezer.

Check to see if the fan mount bent somehow. The fan blade just might be jammed. If not see if the fan is getting power. The unit will not cool properly if the compressor and condenser are not being cooled down by that fan.

Code H1 on my frigidaire ffhs2622mwla refrigerator

HI is an error for freezer temperature detected as too warm... Look for frost on the back wall of freezer (defrost failure), or a failed evaporator fan (you should hear it running in the freezer compartment), if the food in the freezer is beginning to thaw, check the compressor to see if it is running. If the compressor is running, but the freezer isn't cold enough, and the evap fan is good with no frost build-up, you may have a sealed system leak (refrigerant charge is low). Frigidaires really suck in recent years and have lots of leak issues...

May refrigerator freezer and refrigerator won't get cold

My first reaction would be to look inside the freezer for ice buildup or if cooling at all. Check that freezer fan and condenser fan are also working when the compressor should be working. Then if everything is working topside as it appears to should be working but not cooling I would pull the refrigerator away from wall, unplug power, remove lower cover over compressor and then feel top of compressor with my hand to see if warm, cool or too hot to keep hand there. Here is a photo of compressor parts=> MSD2756G Compressor Components In that photo there are three parts I want you to consider as possible reasons if compressor is not running but very hot to the touch.A small percentage of the time it is the compressor itself that is defective and it would pay to do the test of compressor listed on this page HERE and listed near end of page as How To Check For A Burned Out Compressor.Tell me if both fans are on because that tells me the thermostat is good and calling for cold. Here are the most likely reasons your compressor may not be starting=> 12002794 Relay and Overload Kit, and 65889-4 Run Capacitor
I will be here to answer any questions you may have, Thanks, Sea Breeze

That sounds like the compressor start relay buzzing in this case. Unplug and pull away from the wall. Remove the lower cover over the compressor area to expose compressor, condenser fan and condenser coil. Fill the top of your compressor to see if warm, hot or too hot to keep your hand on top of refrigerators compressor. If too hot to keep hand there leave unplugged until compressor cools enough to open the cover on the terminal box on the side and we need to do some test from there. Click here=> How to test a Compressor for Burnout Down on this Page almost at Bottom and watch the short video of how to test compressor windings.. Click Here=> MSD2732GRS Compressor Components and in that photo is part 4 and that is the compressor start relay=> 12002794 and then part=> 65889-4 Run Capacitor is number 6 in that photo. Don't worry this is only a windings test so you get an idea of what to look for.I want you to open freezer door and feel to make sure fans are running while compressor runs. I will await your response and guide you through this and if you have questions please ask, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Freezer cuts on every 3-4 minutes. stays on 8-10 seconds. some thawing occuring

If I understand you correctly the compressor is short cycling. The more it does this the worse it gets by causing the compressor to overheat. Sometimes the problem is because the condenser fan or evaporator fan being defective. Pull away from wall and remove cover over compressor unplug and feel top of compressor and if too hot to keep hand there keep unplugged but do examine the evaporator and condenser fan to eliminate them as a reason. The most likely reason is start relay and or start/run capacitor and sometimes a worn out compressor.

Overload relay click here=> 67002527
Run capacitor click here=> 65889-4
Location Click Here=> MBB1952GR Compressor Components
Parts in that photo are marked as 10 overload/relay, 11 is the run capacitor and 3 being condenser fan motor. Condenser and evaporator fan motors do not always stop completely when bad so make sure both run while compressor is running. If this has been helpful please rate if you have more questions please let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

I have Maytag refrigerator model MZD2752GR. Water leak from under the refrigerator for about 5 min a few times every day. What is the solution to this problem?

There is no one solution to this. It come from a variety of ways. For example a crack in the defrost condensate pan. Or a leak in a water supply line. The way you described it is almost on a cycle basis so I believe it is more of the leaking condensate problem. I would like you to look inside the freezer and fresh food section bottom near crisper and look for condensate buildup inside these areas condensate in freezer would appear as too much frost on items in freezer and fresh food compartment like moisture collecting on walls and shelves. Do that and let me know what you see. Pull front kick plate in front off and pull away from wall. Remove rear cover on compressor area. I will return soon, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Pull the refrig out , and remove the back panel . Is the compressor running ? Is it hot ? Is the fan cooling the compressor , running ? If the compressor is not running , the piece on the side , with 2 or 3 wires going to it , is bad . If the fan is not running , replace the fan motor . The part number for the compressor piece ( overload/relay kit ) is 12002784 . It is easily replaceable . If the compressor is running , check the square black coil box ( condensor coil ) , to make sure it is clean . Is clean , check the fan in the freezer , to make sure it is working .
