How long is a bit?
Sounds like the clock is faulty - Did the repair man disconnect it from the mains? (Turn it off and on again! ;)
Does the clock have battery backup?
Is the mains power steady?
Is the time set correctly?
Does your unit have child lock?

SOURCE: my mpi 41 moniter heater

Do you see any flames before the heater cuts off? If not, check the igniter first. You can check it with an ohmmeter or with a clamp on ammeter. If using an ohmmeter, the igniter resistance should be between 10 - 20 ohms. If using a clamp-on ammeter, clip around just 1 igniter lead and you should get 2 -4 amps.
Does the fuel pump start making a thumping noise before the heater cuts off? It makes this sound when it isn't getting any fuel to it. Check your fuel filter and fuel strainer. Be sure to shut off the kerosene before checking either.
If you do see flames before it cuts off, you need to check the flame rod. Clean it with some steelwool or emory cloth. The flame rod is located next to the window on the combustion chamber and has 1 wire going to it. Unplug the heater before checking.
If this doesn't help, let me know what you have found and I can give you more info.

It sounds like you have a fuel problem, check to see if there is some kind of blockage in the line or at the tank value.
