Hi,
1) Are you refering to Touchpad?
If Touchpad, then go to Start/Control Panel/Mouse/1 tab usually is the Touchpad's, and there you can change the settings.

Hope it helps!

Touchpad too fickle or sensitive. Have to move finger straight up, else cursor will move off target.

Hi,

If this happens when you are typing, it means you are having a jumping cursor. Please download and install the touchfreeze on the link below. This software disable the touchpad when you are typing.

Thank you!

Control panel, mouse, touchpad tab, you can adjust sensitivity there.
The is also an option to disable the touchpad while you type. It may be called ENABLE PALMCHECK or it may say Disable when typing

On-screen cursor jumps around while typing. When I am typing I end up typing in the middle of previous typed lines. I have a Averatec laptop running Windows XP)

Try using the function key to disable the touchpad. Most times they are sensitive and like to jump when you are typing as your wrists rub or pass over the touchpad.

My cursor on my toshiba laptop keeps jumping when am typing

Ive seen this problem a few times, the problem is that your accidently or inadvertently touching the touch pad as you type. To fix this just disable the touchpad when your typing or put a piece of paper over it. To disable the touchpad it varies on different models but can normaly be done with a button near it, a FN and F1-8 key combo or through the touchpad driver on the task bar. Consult your manual for information on how to disable this.

Typing problem with keyboard

the easy method would be to hook up a USB mouse and disable the touchpad to see if that works. Control Panel -> Mouse (or Printers and other Hardware), then click on the mouse and then click on Advanced or Hardware tab to look at the options. You might be able to have it disable the touchpad when a mouse is present.

Cursor(pointer) cannot be moved by using touchpad but possibe wit

Hi,

This happens to me also. Check whether the touchpad is enabled (laptops do have an option of enabling / disabling the touchpad). Secondly, you can try reinstalling the touchpad driver. Uninstall and then re-install the driver. Re-boot the system. Try using the touchpad.

Hope this helps., if so, rate me.. thanks - billa

Cursor jumps around

Try this software:

Touch Freeze will disable the touchpad when you start typing. I have not used it, but give it a try.

Also, your touchpad could be wearing out or a driver reinstall could be in order. My wifes Toshiba had a bad touchpad and the cursor would jump all over the place. I disabled it and she now uses an external mouse. No problems anymore.
