There are many great microwaves out there at affordable prices. Just be sure to do your research before any purchase. Sites like Best Microwave Review can be helpful because they review the units on many different criteria, so that you can choose what is best for you. My best advice would be to do your proper research and never rush into any microwave purchase before reading up on the unit.

Think my fuse blowed

Generally, Microwave ovens have a glass fuse on the main filter board inside the microwave itself. Attempting to replace this yourself (opening the microwave covers) is not advisable. There are several components inside a microwave oven that run at 2000-3000 volts and though it is unlikely, there is a chance the capacitor on the high voltage side is still charged and presents a LETHAL hazard. A repair of this nature should be referred to a qualified technician.

My new (less than 7 months old) JVM1540 microwave just quit. It was working multipLe times earlier today. The main breaker does not show as being 'tripped' and appears to be working. Help..??

Take the microwave back to where you got it, whatever is going on it should still be covered under warranty. it may just be a fuse but a warranty is a warranty. Make sure to take your manual with you just in case they give you any ****. Warranty is located on pg. 15?

There's usually an input line fuse on a small circuit board (part of an input line filter circuit) in most microwave ovens. This is usually a 20 amp appliance fuse that you can purchase at most major hardware stores (you would need to look at the fuse to verify the rating). You would need to remove the exterior cover to access the fuse. Its usually located near where the power cord enters the unit. Make sure you unplug the unit prior to attempting any repairs to the interior circuits. Microwave ovens are particularly dangerous as the the voltage potentials in the high voltage network are in the 3000-4000 volt range. In addition, most manufacturers provide a schematic drawing with troubleshooting advice behind the operator console, or inside the interior cabinet wall. I hope this helps you.
