Buzzing sound... Turntable stopped. food heats up but uneven. No microwave fan when heating.. no light inside expensive fix?? Unit is 10 years old

If the microwave oven is 10 years old then it is time to consider a new unit, by your description it is going into cascade failure where different parts have stopped working, the buzzing sound is the magnetron warning you, it is about to fail. The fans job is to keep the magnetron cool while it is running.

Can't set the Clock on microwave

One of these combinations may work:

CLOCK > 1 > 2 > 3 > CLOCK

CLOCK > 1 > 2 > 3 > START

CLOCK > CLEAR > 1 > 2 > 3 > CLOCK

CLOCK > CLEAR > 1 > 2 > 3 > START

Otherwise, I would contact the dealer you bought it form to see if they have a number for Cascade.

I have a GE JVM1850CH06 over the stove microwave. It works fine; however, it sometimes has a loud noise that sounds like a vibration or a bearing going out. Checked in the top part for anything loose, but...

It may be a louver or the problem might be the hood vent exhaust fan.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here in order to check those by the book.

Also on those models, electrolytic capacitors sometimes fail on the control circuit board, leading to humming and chattering of relays, etc.

We regularly repair these control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.

If you have trouble with your exhaust fan or cooktop lights, please have it repaired right away so the problem doesn't cascade on you.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please remind me of your full model number) for more information & help.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Door is jammed

It's likely that the door open lever is broken. It is located behind the control panel, right behind and in contact with the door open button. With power unplugged, you or a friend can remove the screws in the outer wrapper, then lieft up and back to remove it. You can see then the door open button / lever area and you should be able to figure out where to push with a dull knife to pop the door open. Then you can see about getting replacement parts. If your unit has a model tag, it may have company contact information, or you can contact the place you got it (phone is best) to see if you can get parts at all. This info may or may not be correct: "Cascade's head office is located on Auckland's North Harbour" 15 Ra Ora Drive East Tamaki Auckland PO BOX 58960 Greenmount Auckland (09) 2739136 Fax: (09) 2739137 http://www.cascorp.com/ Good luck.
