Have a Sharp Aquos LC37D6U that the picture fades out.
Picture fades out and I have to press the reset button on the back of the TV. Sound stays so you can hear whats going on but you cannot see the picture. Usually the reset button cures the problem but recently it happened and the picture now will not come back.

Most likely the back light has stopped working, and you will need to replace it. How long has it been since you bought it? this is important because you might still under the manufacturer's warranty. Post back if you have any more information regarding your problem.

Try changing the cable. Is it a red and white composite audio cable or an hdmi cable? Try resetting the tv to the factory preset values. On the tv remote press the menu button and scroll over to setup. Scroll down to reset and press enter. Select yes then press enter. Select yes again then press enter. Then after the tv restarts go back to the correct input. I do recommend trying another set of cables if jiggling them did cause the sound to come back once before.
Make sure the cooling to the TV is not blocked. It is on all the time even when off. Some of the spply cucuits remain on continuously. try uplugging the unit. Let it cool. If it is an older TV the back lighting may be dieing, then it is Tech. time
I would check the System Cable that is linking the box to the TV. Then, press the small button called CLEAR in the front of the box. The button should be behind the flip cover on the front right below the PC input ports.
Let me know if this solution works.
I have a copy of your onwer's manual and the TV might be doing the Image Position automatically on page 32.
I would try the system reset button on the back of the TV, it should be below your Cable In port.
This will do a cold system reboot and restore your TV back to factory setting. This should restore the View Mode problems.

Aquos has the same problem. I'm not sure how I discovered this, but
when I lean the TV forward and hit the power button it will turn on
every time. If the screen blacks out and I don't lean it forward when I
hit the power button, the screen will just remain blank. It is very
weird, but at least repeatable.
- Thank you, Guest. That did it. It definitely seems to be a problem with the TV. Tilting it and hitting the power button helped me get the video back.
Try resetting the TV. Here's how to do it - Unplug the TV's power cable. Keep the Channel Down and Volume Up buttons on the TV pressed and plug the power cable back into the outlet. You will hear a click when you plug it back in if the reset is successful. Hopefully this should restore your video and audio.
maybe you have lost connection.. or you have change value capacitors at the amplifier section! Step #1 resoldered all amplifier section! Step #2 Check all small capacitors with your ohms meter, or if you have no experience in this methods please go to authorize technician!
