Your sweeper may have overheated. I don't know what brand you have but I hope you weren't trying to vacuum pine needles from the Christmas tree. Pine needles are sticky and will clog up any vacuum sweeper. Check your sweeper to make sure the tubes (hose & pipes that carry dirt) are clean and clear. I used to service Oreck vacuum sweepers.
Well, for this unit you will need any of the following bags,
Eureka genuine Part# 90610 Eureka replacement (Central vac bag) another genuine bag style called CV-1, and/or CV-2 Kenmore Central vac bags
Most of the bags there are available at your local vacuum shop, and sometimes even Sears. The Kenmore central vac bag is, can and will fit your Eureka Mega Boss. Prices range on these bags anywhere from $12-$20 for packages of 3. Generally you will replace a bag once every 3-4 months.
Use the guide at builtinvacuum.com/flowchrt.html to find the issue and solution. Most likely you need to test it without any filter and be sure the bottom of the unit is attached :) To get access to the motors you need to unbolt the very top sides.
You main low voltage line from the vac to the house is likely disconnected. Start by looking at the connection where the small wires enter the vac. Touch across those two wire terminals with a screwdriver or needle nose pliers and the vac should start.If it does, inside the home those same wires run along your pie to each inlet. Somewhere along the pipe path the wires have been disconnected or broken.. Think back to any area where work has been performed or face plates removed for painting, etc. Remove each inlet one at a time and look for a loose connection on the screw terminal at the back of the inlets. When reinstalling be certain each wire is tidy and connected to only one screw terminal at the back of the inlet. Once all inlets are connected in line you will have a complete circuit back to the vac. Post back with results
If the switches on the hose will not turn off the vac you have a short in the wiring of the vac pipe system or a defective relay on the circuit board. Plug the vac in again without the hose and disconnect the thin low voltage wiring were it plugs into or screws onto the vac. If the vac continues to run once disconnected from the low voltage circuit you have a defective relay in the vac itself. Some are circuit board mounted , others freestanding. To avoid a service call you can take the tank off the wall and take it to a pro shop or remove the top hosing if you are confident and check out the relay for a replacement part. If the vac stops your issue is in the house. Has any painting been done or any inlets removed lately.. check that area first for a short at the inlet. Go back to any and all inlets and remove them one at a time checking the mounting screws and backing plates for loose wiring which is touching either the metal inner wall plate in the wall or a common screw . Test the vac as you go. If this does not help, you will need to examine the wiring in the house , running along the pipe. Again if anything has been disturbed recently, near the vac, or near any piping that would be your first suspect area. Post back to advise.
You need to approach this step by step. If you have insufficient suction at all locations you need to check as follows: 1. Hose, drop a coin through from the handle to the wall end, with the hose detached from the wall. If the coin goes through from one end to the other the hose should be clear. If the coin stops it will rattle inside where the obstruction is if you gently shake the hose you will feel it through the wall.Obstructions in hose or pie need to bee **** wards out of the hose or pipe. 2. Vac. Go to the vac itself and see if the onboard inlet has suction. If it does your problem is beyond the vac. If not your problem may be a leak, either a broken inlet, with a cracked or sagging door or jammed hinge, a clogged intake in the vac, or damage to the pipe within the house or a twisted gasket where the pail of the vac secures to the body, or an issue with the motor itself.. 3. Take the hose, inlet to inlet and check all locations in the house. I mark a tissue with a number for each inlet and plug in the hose, one inlet at a time. If the tissue makes it all the way to the bucket from each location, that means the branch line for that location is clear. I work from the closest inlet away to the furthest checking for tissues one inlet a t a time. This will help pinpoint location of any blockage in the main line. 4. If you have had any renovations or painting done it is not uncommon to disturb the seal behind and inlet or pierce your piping with a nail or screw. Check for all these and post back to say waht you have found.
You can try these as long as you have some airflow. http://builtinvacuum.com/tornado-power/ If you have no suction or airflow from one particular inlet, you can reverse the main unit by hooking the inlet piping to the exhaust of the unit. Tape all other inlets closed, and turn the unit on. This should blow the clog out through the inlet door. (be prepared for a some mess with newspaper or something else to protect your floor in front of the inlet) If you still can't unclog it, borrow a portable canister vacuum or a shop vac and try to **** the clog from the inlet while you blow from the other end with your central unit. Sounds like the relay that is in the central vac unit is stuck to the ON position. When you plug it back in..does it start right up ? If so.. You should be able to disconnect all the receptacle feeds to the central vac unit at the central vac unit to determine which one ( if any) is calling for the vac to stay on.. if none are.. then it is internal to the vac and may be a stuck relay... Hope that gives you some ideas to check...

A central vac not knowing the brand name or model # uses regular household current and plugs into a regular household inlet and I have never heard of wiring the central vac to the breaker box. The central vac is usually out in the garage or down the basement and will be in the regular household current. You may want to ask the manufacturer or the vac dealer you purchased the central vac from and they might have more information for your and if your central vac needs to be wired to the breaker box they will give you instructions, but I don’t believe that you need to do so. Nutone central vac no suction on lower level second floor fine ran fish tape but it does not go all the way through, do i need to take pipe out.
Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Not @ first, try to get a central vacuum cuff and go to each and every inlet / outlet down the basement and put the cuff in the inlet – the central vac should come on and possibly might unclog the pipe, 2nd, try taking another canister type vacuum while the central vac is running and open the inlet door and try to “pull apart the clog in the pipe” – this does work upon occasion if not you can try a plumbers snake – but be careful because the walls of the pvc pipe are thin wall and you don’t want to poke a hole in the pipe or other wise you will have to replace the pipe. The absolute last resort should be to replace the pipe if all other do not work.
