Question about D-Link DI 514 Wireless Router (DI-514)

1 Answer

I'm having issues with a D-Link DI-514 router. I'm not able to log in to the router. Due to a change in DSL service, my internet was out for about a day. After re-establishing the connection I tried to reconfigure the router, and I was able to connect to it using the 192.168.0.1 username: admin, with a blank password, and after configuring it, I was not able to make it connect. However for some reason, after restarting the router, I was not able to log in to it any more using the same credentials. It's no longer taking the "admin" credentials and I can't get it to work at all.

What is the password for admin account

For my D-Link DSL-G604T, my login name is admin and my password is admin too, this shouldn't change unless you change it yourself once logged in.

Ran the setup wizard for the d link di 514 but still cant connect to internet

Do you have Internet connection before you installed the Dlink router? Do you have cable or DSL? If you have DSL make sure you have the username and password from your Internet service provider because you need to enter those information when you run the set up wizard. You need to connect your computer to the LAN port of the router. Turn off computer and router, turn on router first then turn on the computer. Run the set up wizard again.

I don't know how to connect my router. please help

If you have DSL or cable internet, disconnect the ethernet cable going from the DSL or cable internet modem to the computer. Disconnect the end of that cable that plugs into the modem. Connect an ethernet cable from your cable or DSL modem to the router where it says something like "modem", "internet", or "in". If the router is a wired router, connect the ethernet cable that is still attached to the computer to any open ethernet port on the router.

Short connection and then no connection

This is a problem with the firmware of the router, so the best way to resolve this is to flash or update the firmware of this router then after that reset the router by pressing the reset button for about 15 seconds so the firmware update will take effect....

AT&T FastAccess DSL & D-Link not working for me

Yes D-link is compatible with DSL. What you need to do is call your ISP and have them bridge your DSL modem. Next you need to verify your username and password for your internet account. Next call d-link and have them help you change your router's setting to work with PPPoE connections.

Convert from DSL to cable

I think wat ya need to do is completely set it all up again, right from the start.. I enclose a link for a manual & the other one is for the "Driver". http://www.retrevo.com/s/D-link-DI-514-Routers- review-manual/id/420ci364/t/1-2/ www.opendrivers.com/driver/232575/d-link-di-514- wireless-router-firmware-1.03-free-download.html Your "Provider" will have a different setup and address etc... indeed maybe they will have setup software and logon details on their web site, I suggest ya check that.
