Question about Philips 50P8341 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Won't turn on

When I try to turn on, the tv clicks, once in a while a small power sound. Nothing happens. After 1 minute it clicks and the power button starts flashing in sequences of 6. When the tv does come on, it works fine. Problem is becoming more persistant.

Hello, please check +/- input capacitors 2052,2068 and 2071. Replace Diode 6307 (BY229X600). Also replace 2055 100uf/50V with 100uf/63V Best regards, Arpi

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

So I had this RCA Analog TV set since 1999, and there has never been with it til now... Over the last few months, it would automatically turn off when I turn i after an 1 hr when I would be recording...

Regrettably, 15 year old tv's eventually give up entirely. Sounds like your power supply is finally giving up. Typically these tv's are not economically repairable (most repair shops wont touch them because a new tv is cheaper. Be happy you milked this set for 15 years. Pawn up some of your other extraneous stuff an purchase a $200 flat screen.

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
