No Internet Connection after Installing Norton 360

My dad recently upgrade my mom's computer from Norton Internet Security to Norton 360. The installation and setup FORCE the customer to uninstall Windows Defender. I followed all the steps, and the last connection to the Internet was when Norton 360 downloaded Live Update. After the computer rebooted, I could NOT activate Norton 360 and there was no connection to the Internet. I even tried turning off the Norton product for 15 minutes, but no go. Finally, I uninstalled Norton 360 so I can get on the Internet. What is the solution to this problem so I can get Norton 360 Installed, set up, activated, and go about my business online?

I have the same problem. However, even after uninstalling Norton 360 I had no internet connection. I had to go to Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restort and select a date 'before' the Norton 360 install. At least I got Internet back. Note: Norton-Symantec support via phone is non-existent; it keeps saying 'Go to Internet' for support and to get a 'priority response number'; useless with no Internet connection. I will now press for my money back.

Use the removal Tool and take 360 out. I had to reformat my entire 320 gig HD and reload Vista to get my Internet connection back. Symantec refunded my money, techs useless. The initial upgrade to version 3 never worked. Symantec had to access my computer remotely and claimed they fixed it at the beginning. I could not even reboot.. computer became unstable. No reason for such poorly written junk.

I had same problem. I went to Start\All Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore. I picked date before which Norton 360 was installed. It got my internet connection back. I'm not even going to try Norton anymore. Time better spent trying to get my money back.

I have a similar problem. I tried to upgrade Norton 360 to V3 (I had V2) and when it starts to upgrade it uninstalls the current version. During the uninstall it deleted all my connectivity, i.e., the computer doesn't recognize that I have an ethernet nor wireless adaptor and won't connect to the internet. After installng V3 the connectivity did not return. I had to restore the computer to a previous date, which restored connectivty but did not restore Norton 360. So I have connectivity without protection. I have tried numerous solutions without success. My next step is to reformat the drive and start all over (what a pain). If any one has a new suggestion please let me know.

Virusattack

The best thing to do is upgrade to Norton 360. V4.0.. I had problems with my 2005 Norton , too. For the price of $70.00 which allows you to install it on three different computers , you can't beat the price if you get two friends to split the total cost . That would be less than $25.00 each for a year of protection . And the new Norton 360 is the best I've seen so far . I stand behind it 100% .

We have recently upgraded our Norton 360 - it

I wouldn't recommend installing McAfee as this can also slow down machines. Norton is notorious for this. Download AVG free Anti-Virus or Avast Anti-Virus & a firewall such as Zonealarm. Anti-spyware software is also a good idea. Spybot Search & Destroy & Adaware are good. If the computer is in a corporate environment you must purchase the software as the free licence only covers home use. Uninstall Norton when you have downloaded the programs & before you attempt to install the new programs.
