SOURCE: NO SUB OUTPUT

I have this system. You need to use the on screen display to tell it for what input you want to use the digital optical input. The Analog/Digital button has no effect without that. On the menu, go to "Digital Inputs." From here you can assign the optical to TV/DBS (or whichever is your tv, which if you're like me you're only running audio to the Denon in which case that doesn't matter). So then once you've specified say TV/DBS for Digital Optical, THEN you use the Digital button and you should be pretty good from there. I noticed the Denon site does not have an archived support manuel for the 3200, so email me if you have any questions.

I can't find a manual but the pictures I saw clearly show NO amplifier output for a sub. There's a pre-out for Center and one called, strangely, Mono.

Denon avr2312ci shuts off and blinks red

Yes that is why. The receiver is protecting itself from an un-stable load impedance which causes current/voltage spikes through the final amplifier components and proportionally through the input where the protection relay is (click),. Do not continue using the amp until you have repaired or replaced the blown speakers. A rule of thumb is to maintain 8 ohms on each speaker wire plugged into the amp. Keep that in mind or eventually you will damage it.

Avr 1513 no signal to subwoofer

Check its speaker connections. Check the speaker using a dry cell. If it is found OK, check the sound settings. If you wish to get more details, check this link.

I just purchased a Harman Kardon AVR 2650 and use it with a projector. It says to use the set up button and there isn't one. can't get on screen menu to set up

HI,
First of all check the HDMI connections. You have to connect the HDMI Monitor out to Your projector.. And HDMI 1 to blueray or to a dvd player what you have.

To access the setup on Harman Kardon avr Just press the AVR button on the remote control. You can find the AVR button on the lowest postion of the remote . When you press the AVR button the ON SCREEN menu will pop up. Do the settings you needed.

One more thing try to use HDMI cable wih a vertion of 1.4a.

If you are not able to get the AVR ON SCREEN menu through HDMI then connect the composite monitor out In the rear of the avr to the projectors composite video input. Select the projectors composite input.

Then press the AVR button. Connect the mic to your Avr which coms with it. Select the speaker setup From the menu. Then select Automatic setup.

If you need any more assistance feel free to contact me throug fixya or by mail.

I have harman kardon AVR 230 7.1, Can it run my new Bose 901 VI speakers, how i will connect the Bose EQ ( 901 VI EQ) to this AVR?

I have a setup similar to what I think you're trying to do and it works great!

You're in luck because you have a full complement of pre-outs. You'll need a separate amp for the 901's.

First some background.

The use of 901's Active EQ (or any external proxcessor) in any digital AV receiver setup for anything EXCEPT STEREO listening through the 901's alone requires you to have a separate amplifier for them and to avoid having to use a Tape Monitor which could introduce proprietary and potentially damaging Active Equalization back into anything in the AV Receiver with its conventional speakers.

In an AVR, if you activate any Tape Monitor circuit at all, you will kill any digital sources. That is a function of AV receivers in general, nothing to do with 901's. Your Pre-Outs get us around that possibility and limitation but it also means you need a moderately powerful amp for your 901's. I use a Carver MT-200.

Run it with the Active EQ between the receiver Front L and R Pre-Outputs ** and the 901's amp channels.

** Front Pre Out (or one of your analog Tape Outs) >>> Bose EQ Amplifer IN, then Bose EQ Amplier OUT >>> new amplifier IN.

The AV Receiver can still drive the Center, Surrounds and the Sub(s) as it is designed. This is how mine is wired.

Then set the new amp's volume control (if it has one, mine doesn't) to something HIGH and leave it alone. Run through your speaker setup routines on the AVR. After levels and distances are set the AVR will be the boss of the 901's. With 901's don't even need subwoofers but they don't hurt. If you do have subs I recommend sharing the LFE with the 901's.

I've done this in my own setup once. Turn the 901's around so the rear faces point into the listening area. Crank up a movie like Master and Commander and when the waves are crashing or cannon are firing you WILL FEEL A BREEZE from them. Now THAT is multi-media! I advise having the 901's share LFE with any subwoofers you might have.

We have our subwoofer hooked up to our Denon AVR-787, but not getting any sound from it. I'm sure it's some knob we need to turn or button to push.... All other speakers are working Help?! We're not...

press setup/configuration on your remote you'll get configuration menu, then goto 'speaker configuration' check if the subwoofer is on, check that front speakers and others are set as small. There also could be subwoofer mode settings, remember current setting and try to change it.

No output to the subwoofer using the sub pre out RCA jack.

I'm assuming your subwoofer is self-amplified, otherwise it won't work with a preamp (rca) input.

Under Speaker Setup you have to have Subwoofer set to YES (page 16).

If you have good bass-capable main speakers I would recommend setting the subwoofer playback mode to LFE+Main, otherwise just LFE.

Beyond this we would need to know something more about the subwoofer and its controls.

Connect any other preamp out channel, like CDR/Tape OUT, to the sub and tune an FM station to see if the sub is capable of processing audio. A 'normal' audio signal would sound muffled but it would prove the cabling, amp and speaker at least function and point us back to setup as the culprit.

I have Harman Kardon speakers and subwoofers connected to a Denon AVr 1508 receiver. All my five speakers are working but my subwoofer doesnt work. I m pretty sure I have connected the subwoofer properly...

There is a setting under your speaker setup to turn the subwoofer on. If speakers are set to small it auto matically sets the subwoofer to ON. If the speakers are set to large it turns the subwoofer off but you can manually adjust.
