Hello there try uninstall your webcam from your control panel take all the sofware off ok,
then reinstall the software again and try it again
when your webcam says its busy then means that someother programe is using your webcam

First check the physical cable connections whether its connected properly or not.. Once its done, the webcam will be detected by your system, then you need to install the drivers from the CD which you got along with your webcam.. Hope this wil solve your problem.
The driver to this webcam is not installed and so is not detected, since the model is not specified , try to get a free download of the webcam from the net and install .then connect the cam to be detected and installed. Uninstall all old web cam drivers.
Try to reinstall software for the webcam,If it still don´t working You can open your control panel and see in the hardware system if your webcam is showing here.If it is the electronic or cam eye is defect. Then try a extern USB webcam to see if it will be detected.
If you purchased it brand new it should have a webcam utility on it. If not, you can download something like Yahoo Messenger or MSN Messenger and it should automatically detect your webcam. If they do not detect your webcam, you should go to control panel>>device manager and see if there are any exclamation icons which would indicate missing drivers. If this is the case, you should go to the Dell support site, find your specific model, and locate the webcam driver for your system.
In windows 7 you do not need to enable a built in CAM, all supporting software's (Skype, Y messenger) will automatically detect the webcam and make it available for use. if you want the built-in CAM to take picture's you should install the CAM software found in the CD's that came with the Laptop.
hi, unplug the cam and uninstall its drivers & applications, reboot, then first install the drivers for the cam, then plug in the cam and assign the driver it has detected.
Impt.. when plugged in the USB the system should detect the cam, or else its faulty.. let me know
