Some computers have an intermitant boot issue, and it can be solved with a BIOS update which you have to download from the manufacterer of the pc.

No need to panic if your laptop is stuck at the loading screen because you can easily restore it to normal using the resources that came with your system. Booting issues usually result from missing or corrupt files, or incompatible software on your system. It is convenient to use tools that are part of your Windows operating system to fix loading issues. You can have your laptop back to normal with a little troubleshooting.

1.Place the Windows 7 installation disc into your CD-ROM drive. Restart your computer.
2.Press "Enter" when the "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD" message screen appears. Allow Windows to load the files.
3.Select your preferred settings from the Time and and currency format and Keyboard or input method boxes. Leave the Language box at English and click "Next" to continue.
4.Click "Repair your computer" toward the bottom of the screen at the next window. This will launch the System Recovery Options. Select the "Use recovery tools..." option, choose your operating system and then click "Next" at the next window.
5.Click "Startup Repair" at the System Recovery Options window. Allow the tool to scan your system for issues that are causing your laptop not to boot. Click "Next" to reboot your laptop. Windows should load like normal, but it may reboot several times on its own first.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thanks.

I have installed a new monitor on my desktop (windows xp) but the message appears 'Reboot and select proper boot device, or insert Boot Media' .. I have tried out the new moitor on my laptop and is working...

First check that all your CD/DVD and Floppy drives are empty. If there's a disk in one of them, take it out and reboot.

If there isn't a disk in one of the drives, switch on as normal and watch the screen, at the bottom you'll get a a message saying something like "Press F2 for boot options or "DEL" for setup".

Then it'll disappear quick as lightning before you get chance to do anything.

So re-boot again, this time pressing the boot options button repeatedly, so you don't miss your chance.

When successful a screen will say choose where you want to boot from. Choose HDD 0 (Your first hard drive) and press enter.

If you want to you can press the DEL key and go into the bios and set up your boot options.

I would suggest you set the boot order to

1) HDD
2) CD
3) Floppy Drive.

To stop acer logo before starting windows xp

Well, Firstly this might be a extreme case but is to reformat your hard drive removing any manufactures partition, and reinstalling the Operating System, but what i would do first is the go to start---run---(type this command and hit enter)"msconfig" the system configuration window should pop up. Go to the boot tab and place check mark in the box which says "No GUI boot" you mat also change the timeout seconds there too. hit apply then OK and reboot your system.

hope this works for you. let met know.

Laptop won' boot up.

The blue screen means the system is experiencing a fatal error... a error from which it cant recover.... so while booting press f8 and boot using safe mode... then analyse the startup programs of your system using Start->Run and then typing msconfig in the window that appears and then going to the startup tab... one of your latest installed program might be misfunctioning....

My laptop is not switching on

  1. Boot the computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. Check your system documentation for steps to access the BIOS and change the boot order.
  2. When you see the "Welcome To Setup" screen, you will see the options below This portion of the Setup program prepares Microsoft
Windows XP to run on your computer:

To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.

To repair a Windows XP installation using Recovery Console, press R.

To quit Setup without installing Windows XP, press F3.
  3. Press Enter to start the Windows Setup. note.gifTo Repair Install, press ENTER
\r\n'); FP_changeProp(/*id*/'layer1',0,'style.borderStyle','double','style.borderWidth','3px','style.padding','5px','style.backgroundColor','#F9F4D5','style.backgroundImage','url(\'edgbkgnd4.gif\')'); FP_changeProp(/*id*/'layer1',0,'style.visibility','visible')" onclick="FP_changeProp(/*id*/'layer1',0,'style.visibility','hidden')" border="0" height="21" width="15" /> do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R", (you Do Not want to load Recovery Console). I repeat, do not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R".
  4. Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations.
  5. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. If Repair is not one of the options, END setup. After the reboot read Warning#2!
  6. Setup will copy the necessary files to the hard drive and reboot. Do not press any key to boot from CD when the message appears. Setup will continue as if it were doing a clean install, but your applications and settings will remain intact.

LG LS55 LAPTOP DISPLAY SCREEN BLANK/BLACK

I think your laptop might be stuck in SUSPEND mode. Try unplugging the power and removing the battery and waiting five minutes, and then plugging it back in. If this does not work, try holding down the power button for ten seconds at a time and rebooting.

Good Luck...
