The beeps are telling you there is a hardware failure (POST). The number and length of beeps will give a better indication as to what has failed. Write back with that info and someone on this web site will interpret this for you.

Turn the computer off.
Remove the side case-cover.
Look at all the fans -- they should spin easily, and smoothly, if you give them a "push".

Turn the computer on, and confirm that all the visible fans are spinning.

Feel the exhaust from the "back" of the power-supply; there's a fan inside the power-supply. No exhaust means that the fan inside the power-supply has failed.

Failed fans allow the computer to overheat, start "beeping", and shutdon the computer.

I have an Acer Aspire 5732Z notebook for about a year. I now get a continuous beeping when I try to boot up and then I get a black screen after the F2 comes up on the screen.
I have tried to find out what beep codes there are for the Acer Aspire, but I can't find any. If we can't pinpoint the hardware problem then we can't use our 2 year warranty for hardware---how convenient for Acer Company!

Hi, Do this for me. Check your RAM memory card(s). If it is bad windows will not run. Reseat the ram card and try again. Try with a new known ram cards. You may need a new card. Good luck.

I cont play 3d games graphic card is there in acer aspire 4720z

* The system configuration of Acer Aspire 4720Z PC Notebook is :

160 GB or larger hard disk drive / 5-in-1 card reader / 512 MB or 1GB DDR2 533 MHz DIMM module / Intel Pentium dual-core mobile processor technology T2310 (1 MB L2 cache, 1.46, 533 MHz FSB), Mobile Intel GL960 Express Graphics Chipset.

* Your system have "Mobile Intel GL960 Express Graphics Chipset" graphics accelerator card embedded in the motherboard. Like most of the laptops/notebooks, there is no room for upgrading the graphics card in the motherboard!

* But you can upgrade the RAM upto 2 GB using two DDR2 DIMM memory modules.

* If you want to play 3D games with better performance, switch to Windows XP SP2 and upgrade the RAM!

* If you want to upgrade the memory (RAM), you can check this site :

No display on computer

First thing is do you have a beep when the system boots? Sounds like you may have a BIOS issue I would start there........your RAM and processor are more than likely NOT the problem

DELL OptiPlex GX150 Upgrading

The fastest processor you can install in a GX150 is a Pentium III 1.13 Ghz processor.

The Socket 370 was a design used only for P3 processors.

Max RAM for that system is 512MB no way to upgrade past that.

If you paid $100 for a GX150, you paid way too much (You can buy a refurbished Dell Dimension C521 for $225 at their refurb site)

Seagate 160GB SATA Hard Drive Installation.

Hi, Was the original 20Gb HD also a SATA or was it installed as an IDE? Try installing a fresh clean Windows rather than the restore disc. However, you will need the drivers for the SATA 160Gb and press F6 when Windows installers ask you to. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Hope this be of some idea/help. Good luck and kind regards.
