This problem has occurred for second time since purchasing the camera.

The first time I took it back to the shop in Sydney city and was charged AU$350 to repair.

I have seen this error often since but one out of 10 times it will rectify.

Now for some months the zoom does not budge.

I am unable to pay $350 again and do love this camera so I took it upon myself to open very carefully and I think I have found the seemingly simple problem!

When the casing is removed and I very gently and with correct level of pressure on the BLUE PLASTIC contact below the lens the zoom responds every single time like new!

However when I carefully replace the casing, the problem returns.

I can see on the bottom right hand corner of this blue plastic a small screw hole, but as the casing is not fixed appropriately the hole would not take a screw. The blue plastic is fixed rigid and not possible to move.

It appears to be a fault. Would I be correct?

What can I do now? How to rectify and what steps to take.

    PLEASE HELP!

I had the exact same error on my camera and found this bit of information: It sound like a problem with the zooming mechanism (lens would not retract or extended) Press the power button on and hold it down while extending and twisting the telescopic zoom lens. It might fix you problem. In any case it could not make it worse. I tried this on my camera and it is now fully functional.

Generally speaking, there is nothing you can do to correct the problem other than to send the camera to the appropriate factory service center for correction of the error. Following the repair cost you should decide, whether it worth it.

This happened to my Camera and I fixed it by turning it on and hitting the back of it hard and the lens retracted back into the camera.

Not working on preview

did you save the pictures into the card and not the cameras memory?

If you plug the card into your pc with a card reader you can have a look inside and also there are file recovery programs available if the card has gotten corrupt but the pictures where saved in it so it can be saved. but if no pictures are saved into the card then tehre is noting to recover,

Canon Power Shot A400 will only work with original Canon SD card

Make sure you are using an SD card and not an SDHC card. The SDHC protocol is newer than your camera, and your camera does not support it. SD cards have capacities up to 2 GB. Your camera should work properly with any SD or MMC card.

D900 mp3 problem

Just try formatting the SD card. Hope it works fine.

Just connect the micro SD with computer.(You need SD adapter, SD card reader, and USB connection) Most computer will recognise the SD card automatically. Format the micro SD in the Window Explorer(or My Computer). Format menu can be found if you click right-button with cursor on the drive letter. After formatting, re-insert micro SD into your D900.
Some Korean experts says the problem might be caused by different file system (e.g. FAT, FAT32, etc) in each memory card. So they recommended not to share your memory card with different mobile phones as well as any electric devices (eg. MP3 player and digital camera).

The SD10 is an older, although very nice little Canon digital camera. It's known for its nice pictures in a vrey small package. Here's some info and reviews from owners:

You'll also need an SD card. A 1GB card should be more than enough for your 4 megapixel camera:

Error 50

The "E50" error code indicates formatting a SD card has failed. Solution To clear the "E50" error, try performing the following procedure. 1. Try using another SD card. If you have another SD card, try loading it in the camera. If the error code is not displayed when the other SD card is loaded, there may be something wrong with the first one rather than with the camera. 2. Use your computer's ScanDisk utility to check the SD card for errors. Use ScanDisk to check the SD card for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your operating system or Windows Help for further instructions. (If you are using a Macintosh, use the "Disk First Aid" program to check for card error or card failure. Refer to the instruction manual for your Macintosh OS for further information.) Be sure to back up the data on the SD card on the computer before you check the SD card. If a card error or card failure occurs when you use your computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card. Follow ScanDisk's on-screen instructions to solve the problem.

Error 30

The "E30" error code indicates reading/writing data on a SD card has failed. Especially, the error code "E30" may appears when you tried to remove a SD card while the camera was processing data. Solution To clear the "E30" error, try performing the following procedure. 1. Try using another SD card. If you have another SD card, try loading it in the camera. If the error code is not displayed when the other SD card is loaded, there may be something wrong with the first one rather than with the camera. 2. If a card error or card failure occurs when you use your computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card. Follow ScanDisk's on-screen instructions to solve the problem. 3. Format the SD card with your camera Try to format the SD card with your camera. Please refer to the "Camera User Guide" for your camera for instructions on formatting SD cards. Also, please note that formatting a SD card will erase all data on the card. Once the SD card is formatted, follow the procedure described in step 2 above and use your computer's ScanDisk on your computer to check the SD card for errors. If a card error or card failure occurs when you are using computer's ScanDisk, there is something wrong with the SD card.
