Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

No administrator access

I have been trying to install a new anti-virus pack to my computer but everytime I try it says I don't have administrative access. I log in as administrator and it still says there is an account restriction and won't let me install it. I'm sure I have a virus or something on my computer because I am losing files on my computer.

Thanks for the help on my problem. Sorry but it won't work. My computer says page cannot be found and won't go to the malware scan page.

You have some kind of malware. Get the free malwarebytes' antimalware from

Then install it and run a quick scan. Then remove the malware. Do a reboot and try again.

Another solution. Get the BARTPE builder and make a bootable CD. Then run it and recover the admin password with the tools provided.

    Download from here:

Then download the "Change admin password" plugin from:

You'll need to read a little on the BARTPE page but you'll be able to reset your admin password to a blank password.

Re-install Windows, choosing to install Windows to a different folder-name -- anything *OTHER* than 'C:\WINDOWS'.
Then, when logged-in to the "new" version, you can virus-scan your computer, and access all your files from the "old" installation.

Maybe, the virus-scan will clean-up the "old" installation.
Shutdown, restart, and choose to boot from the "old" installation.

Hello and thank you for using Fixya services.

From the sounds of your issue, it may be that you have malware or a trojan. You can run a scan using this free malware/antivirus protection. I am not sure which antivirus you are currently using but this one is free and has excellent reviews. You will need to uninstall your current antivirus protection first before installing this one.

Malware/trojans can disable your antivirus programs and make it look like everything is running smoothly. This would also block Windows updates. By running a thourall scan with another program, you can get the malware out. Even the best antivirus can be disabled.

Please let me know i I can be of further assistance

Although olympus 2 is correctly installed when I click on to it the programme will not come up

Try turning off your spyware and anti-virus software before you install it. Also make sure you have the most up to date updated for your computer and if you're installing it in Windows Vista make sure you run the installation program as administrator (instead of double clicking, right click and select run as administrator). and for more

If you have the system restore CDs , you need to erase your hard drive and re install everything back on your computer. You will lose data but that is a sure way of curing your problem.
