Blue screen of death when playing 3d games

Hi,

Everytime I play a 3D game on my PC after a few minutes I get a blue BAD_POOL_HEADER screen. I have the latest drivers for my nvidia 5950 ultra graphics card - can you suggest anything?

Cheers.

    Hi,

    Thanks.

The actual code I get is-

    0x00000019 (0x00000020, 0x8608A000, 0x8608AEF0, 0x0BDE51EA)

    does that help?

    Hi.

It would be helpful if you write down exact error codes that you get in blue screen of death (0xC0000005 or similar).

How do you connect to the net? wireless? Also, newer drivers dont always mean better. This problem is most likely driver related. Try rolling video drivers back to the earlier version. If connection is wireless, try reinstalling modem drivers also.

I recently installed the latest drivers for an nvidia gforce 8500 gt card, and now every single game i try to play crashes. after a few minutes into the game (any game), the monitor goes black, and then...

Not an unusual situation. Try older drivers for the card. You have a couple of options.
1) If you're running a later Windows version, you can revert to earlier drivers with a System Restore. There should be a Help and Support option under your start menu, use that to revert to a time prior to when you updated your drivers.
2) If the last set of drivers you've installed worked, under Windows Explorer, you should have a C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\ folder. Look for a setup.exe file under the fileset before the latest set of drivers, and run that. It should revert you to the driver version that last worked for you.
3) If all else fails, browse to www.nvidia.com, select your region, and from the Download Drivers dropdown, select 'Beta and Archived Drivers'. Select the appropriate settings for your OS and video card, and click 'Search'. You'll find older drivers for your system there. Keep installing older driver versions and test games until you find a driver that works for you.

GEFORCE FX 5500 video quality low, slow motion videos and games

well if your trying to game on a pc the 5500 isnt quite sufficient. If you dont know about nvidia you are about 5 generations back of days cards. So the card wont handle any of todays games. If your really trying to game i suggest you build/buy a new rig. But as far as playing videos, quality should be good. Try goin to nvidia.com and downloading the newest drivers.

Problem while playing games with nvidia geforce 8600 gt.

its possible that the card that you have is bad.. try it on another computer. Sometimes, this problem can easily be solved by taking the GPU card out then put it back in. make sure that you handle that card properly. static can easily damage the card.

also,try reinstalling the driver files...

i hope this helps

This is the latest driver for your video card here!! http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html The problem that you are describing sounds like a video card driver issue or a system cooling issue! Also make sure your operating system is fully updated (Windows Update) . Does it only happen with one particular game, or all the games? Also look at how hot your computer is getting! Ensure that your processor is being properly cooled and there is enough ventilation within your system! get back to me if any questions regards, babb

Do you have the latest version of direct x installed? Direct x sometimes can cause problems with games using 3d acceleration, as some versions of direct x are not fully compatible with the video card and/or the video card drivers.
