Sounds like your fan switch is defectiveor posibble installed in the wrong place. This switch is heat controlled and delays the fan coming on until there is warm air to blow.

SOURCE: York Diamond 80 Issue. AC and Blower work fine.

Open the furnace door. Turn the thermostat on, and hold the power switch on. Look for the service code on the control board. That should tell you whats wrong with it. www.FastACservice.com

SOURCE: york diamond 80 heater does not fire up

Mostly likely the problem is in the pressure switch that tells the board that the blower started and it is okay to fire the burner. The pressure switch is usually a 2" or so round thing about 1" thick, it will have one or two tubes coming out of it that go to the blower or heat exchanger. Make sure that the tube is not cracked or that it has not come off at either end.
The pressure switch can be jumped out to check out if that is the problem, but you need to jump it out after the cycle has started and the switch needs to open after a cycle for the heater to refire again, so that fix would be very temporary. But it may tell you for sure what the problem is.

Blower comes on igniter lites, burner comes on for about 5 sec.then shuts off then cylces again same results

More then likely the flame sensor. It is a small bar that is installed in front of the burners on the opposite side of the igniter. A lot of times you can take it out and clean it softly with sand paper or other abrasive materials, just to remove oxidation, etc. if that does not work, you may have to replace it. You can find these fairly cheap at a local heating and air conditioning supply store. Make sure all connections are also good coming from the control board. If a new flame sensor does not work, which is the cheaper fix to begin with, then you may have a bad control board. Hope this helps and good luck!

I have a 11 year-old york diamond 80 furnace. The flame sensor lights up and ignite the flame for about 5-6 seconds. Soon the flame goes out once again. There's this clicking sound that is heard every

You need to clean the sensor with steel wool so its very clean check sensor connections . If it is still not working you could change sensor also check out the pressure switch .

York diamond 80 fan starts running blowing cold air before furnace ignites..replaced thermostat

OK so you replaced the Thermostat huh? OK well then did you also replace the Thermistor Temperature Sensor? or whatever is used? As often it's BOTH, also check the wiring from the sensor to the host, in any event if it's NOT that then all it can be is the controller board, most likely the Micro? Check any and all sensors first though.. try to get a service manual too, it's hard without one?

Had the same problem. The heat quit during the night leaving the fan blowing cold air only. Ah, Looked online yesterday at all that came up in various forums. Not once did I see the suggestion "Replace the Glow Plug" which I suspect is common in a 6+ yr old "York Diamond 80" - Not very helpful, guys...Cost for part was about $22. I paid a handy local another $40 to diagnose, locate & purchase the plug, remove & replace the plug. If you want to continue to attract advertising to these forums I think you need to turn down the obfuscation & engage your experience & be a lot more forthcoming with known common solutions instead of the whirling around all the "it could be's" Seems to me to be an effort to intentionally withhold and not to be too helpful while pretending to be offering a worthy place for the homeowner to discover that you guys charge gravy flat fees for things anyone with a common set of tools & a bit of honest guidance could do himself. I know, it's a dog-eat-dog world & baby needs new shoes but unless we all start actually helping each other this world is gonna keep getting worse for yours and my kids futures. Self-interest has got to be seen in proper perspective, not from the view of The Law of The Jungle mentality that has taken us to the brink of inhumanity. It was NOT this way in "The Greatest Generation" my Fathers world. In that world The Bastards were the exception not the RULE!
