Richmond hot water heater light blinks twice the shuts off then twice again the shuts off and keeps doing this

Could be the thermostat is faulty or perhaps the heating element has developed a fault that is overloading and causing something to keep tripping out.

If the heater is modern it could have electronics that are causing problems.

I have a Whirpool water heater Model No. E3z5ordo55cv the T&P valve is leaking I have replaced it twice in the past week. It is still leaking. Any suggestions ???

The T&P valve or temperature and pressure relief valve is placed on a hot water heater for safety. If it is still leaking after replacement either the temperature is too high causing excessive pressure or your house pressure regulator is set to high or has failed. The water heater has a thermostat to control the temperature. Check to make sure it isnt cranked all the way up. If the water heater is old there could be a lot of sediment build up. if sediment builds up near the temp sensor it will have to superheat the water above normal levels to heat the sediment up enough to shut off. Drain your water heater and flush out all the junk then try it again.

Richmond water heater, water is not hot , pilot is on

Sometimes when master burner is clogged with shards it will turn itself off. Try to clean master with a high-pressure air.

Control on whirlpool EEZ8OHD055V Blinks twice, no hot water

1) Call Whirlpool. 1-877-817-6750
Have them send 2 new thermistors (temperature sensors located above each element), and then install according to the instructions they give you.

2) Sounds like you have the American brand older energy-smart electric water heater with grey control box on top
Copy following link to exactly identify product and resources

3) Two flashes is 'high water temperature shut down.
Buy cheap multimeter from hardware store. Install battery. Set to read ohm, the upside down horseshoe symbol.
Use multimeter set to read ohms, and test thermistors
Copy following link for general service manual showing error #2 and thermistor resistance chart on page 10

Lowe's hot water heater pilot light will not stay

If it is one of the new ones with the fancy gas control and the blinking light... does the light blink?? or not??
If it is blinking then the pilot should stay lit...
If it will not blink then the sensor is bad or not in the right place...

Or... the gas control is bad... this is happening alot...

If it is brand new... take it back...

High water temp

Have you done a reset on the board?

The reset function is used to restart the Temperature Control System after an error condition has been detected and
Reset the control by pushing the red reset button on the controller. After a reset, the control performs self diagnostics
before normal operations begin. This takes approximately 10 minutes.

Then do the following if the flashes don't stop.

1. Make sure upper and lower access doors and insulation are
properly in place
2. Check element circuits for resistance of 5 - 25 ohms
3. Replace element if necessary and reset control system

Whirlpool energy smart water heater

Two flashes means that the high limit temperature has been reached. Once this happens, the temperature control system will shut off. Make sure that all element access doors are in place. Push the "Push to Reset" button to restart the temperature control system. The water heater will self test for ten minutes before it will start to heat. If you get the 2 flashes again then you may need to replace one or both elements. Each element should measure 5-25 ohms.

The "thermostat" is the knob marked "Temperature Control". Make sure that the operating mode is set to 1,2 or 3.
