You may have put to kuch power to the sub or wiring is wrong. There could just b e a lot of debris in the box that is causing a short in the coils like wire fragments from cutting wire s ect

It sounds like the voice coil may have been damaged in which case you'll hav e to get a new speaker.

CDR 2005 VDO makes a whirring noise when being used - how can I fix this?

If the whirring noise goes up and down based on engine speed then it is a weak ground connection. Also, if you have amps (I have a Kicker mono-block running a cheap MTX 2 by 10" subs, and Kicker 4 channel amp running 4 kicker speakers). I promise I won't say "Kicker" one more time!
I have a whirring noise too just like yours. There are a lot of electronics and wireless devices in modern cars these days that are going to interfere with your audio electronics...especially cell phones operating through the audio system. I can't stress that enough. Cell phones operate through powerful towers which is why they can be so tiny. As you talk the whirring will go up and down based on Tranter level and distance to tower. Hope this helps. I have 1000 watts, so it tends to drown out any minor whirring. LOL.

I have a Kicker Solo-Baric, L7, 12 inch subwoofer making a scratching noise. The cone is fine but the inside is not. Can i get this repaired? Kicker said no. This is a $250-300 sub. I hate to just throw it...

The bad news is that your voice coils could be fried up, basically mechanical failure. Might as well buy a new sub because replacing a voice coil means you got to rip the whole sub apart, very complicating.

49cc scooterwont kick star the kicker makes a grindin noise

You could take out the kicker to inspect for damage or wearing. The grinding noise could be due to oil level that's too low, or its recoil spring out. If you have the manual to guide, revove the kicker side-cover and inspect for any damage.
Take out the starter-motor and have it inspected at a fine parts/repair store.

kicker gives you a credit if u ship it back to them and upgrade. i have blown several old l7s the new ones are way beter. upgrade i did and am alot happier. the 02 l7s lasted a few months the 08s still going strong with a bigger box and its been 1 1/2 years and no problems. and yes your sub is blown......

Kickers dont beat like they should

try to check and clean the wiring as clean as possible to avoid messing up on your connection. Check the polarity of you subs to yuor amp if you have it connected on the outher way around it would not give you a good result. check the polarity this will solve your problem. Over powering your sub will fry it easily try to tune it a 10" sub wont give you a 15" performance..

Kicker sub wont work

Im guessing that it is possibly blown... either you ran too much power to it, or it was hooked up wrong... you should unscrew the sub from the box and look inside to make sure that it is connected correctly.... positive to positive, negative to negative,,, if they so much as touched then the L7 could very well be blown.... smell the magnet and if you smell a burnt smell... it is blown... maybe turn your amp down a little... its possible that it is also in protect mode because you are running too many watts to the amp. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.... Please rate! :D And good luck... i really hope its not burnt out. that stuff is not cheap.

12" kicker l7

It sounds like the "flex" surrounding your SUB has not been flexed properly. When it comes to SUBS, if you can't fix it in the 1st hr. Its better to replace em.

Try pushing on your SUB repeatedly for about 3-5mins. Working the "flex" on it. If there still is not give in it, time to replace.
