I had exactly the same problem (error Code:2,140,2) in Canon PIXMA MP250, and it was solved when I replaced both ink cartridges which were almost empty (almost without ink). I know an scanner problem is not supposed to be in relation with ink or printer problems, but that's the way I've fixed it. Good luck!

6A00 is a sheet feed unit problem.After trying the suggested fixes (moving carriage back and forth manually, checking and cleaning paper feed, making sure all rollers were free, etc., with no effect, I turned the whole thing upside down and shook it. Problem solved. Go figure it out then...

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Manually move the print head left and right, and turn the printer on/off. I would also inspect the rollers for ANY debris... it can often be fixed by using "canned air" and blowing the interior out completely.
