Turn the screw labled T in a little. This will raise the idle setting. Heres a link to the manual. Look on page 29 of the .pdf

SOURCE: I have a husqvarna 55. I put in a new carb, coil,

If you are still having problems I would check or replace white grommet inserted into cylinder and connected to manifold, they have issues with breaking or blowing out. This model also has problems with the black intake boot not sealing around cylinder and manifold,an easy check by spraying a LITTLE carb cleaner around problem area.

Unless you are skilled enough to make your own, you are stuck taking the saw to a servicing dealer as they are the only ones allowed to possess the necessary 'D' head screwdriver. Give thanks to the EPA for mandating the prevention of mal-adjustment pollution.

All adjustments made to the fuel are screw adjusted, three screws are low ideal, high ideal, throttle stop. A flat he'd screw driver should do.

How to adjust carberator

Some Husqvarna carbs require a special screwdriver to adjust them, some just use a mall flat head tuning screwriver.

Screw both H and L screws in. Then turn them out anticlockwise the following amounts to return them to standard.

H 3/4of a turn L1 full turn (Chainsaws)

Some equipment like blowers and strimmers are:-
H 2 1/4 turns out L 2 1/4 turns out

What tool is needed to adjust H & L on a Husqvarna 142 chainsaw ?

This machine has a carb with splined adjuster screws, the toll to adjust them is part no. 530035560, it is readily available however i heard that the dealers in the US are very reluctant to sell it to end useres, so you may have to buy off the web.

I have a 16 in 235 Husqvarna chainsaw that starts find and runs for a few minute. then acts as if it is not gettting enough fuel as it starts to bog down while running and will not maintain idle.

It may well just need the carb adjusted, unfortunatley there is a special tool required the adjust the screws, the L screw on the carb may need richening up, so if you manage to get the tool unscrew it by 1/4 out ( anti cliock wise ) tool part no. 530035560

I have a Husqvarna 455 rancher I have been trying to adjust the idle and carburetor but it's still running a little rough. Any Suggestions?

husqs are sensitif for dirt in carb and fuelsystem clean everything real good. airfilter, carb, tankfilter. after building together make sure it can not take false air. start with both screws closed and open for 360 degrees. after that start adjusting. compression must be ok. saw must hang on cord and not go down. good luck lot of work.

Can't set carb. on Husqvarna chainsaw.

Most chainsaws and small engines are 1.5 turns out.

You need to set the mixtures for the carburetor. You will find a Low and High adjustment screw. At idle turn the screw in or clockwise until the rps starts to decrease. Then start turning it out till you hit max idle rpms. Turn screw back in a quarter to half turn and it should be idling smoothly. Be careful here and get someone to hold saw if necessary but hold in throttle to full speed and do the same with high adjustment screw. turn it in till rpm starts to drop then back it out until you get to max rpm and it won't go any higher then turn it back in a half a turn.
