Question about Casio Exilim EX-S500 Digital Camera
The lens may have been forced closed by accident and is jamed hard on an angle. It is not properly closed. What do I need to do?
I had this same problem and thought it was the battery. I bought a new battery and still the same problem. I took out the memory card and the camera came on like normal. Must be something wrong with the card.

My friend and I both have had this same problem with this camera, send it in and casio will replace your lens assembly for free if it is within the 1 year warranty. After the warranty, they will charge you a lot. If within warranty, you will get the camera back fixed within 14 days.
*Note, part of the problem is that the default setting is that when you hit the Record button in your pocket, the lens will try to open.. When it jams, this happens. You can turn that menu option off too.
