How to view contents from flash drive

There are external memory card readers, you can connect to any USB port of all modern computers. Perhaps even your flash drive has an USB connector, so you can put it in an USB slot from the computer.
If the flash five is a mini or micro SD card, you need an adopter from Mini (Micro) to SD ann that combination should be inserted in the external memory card reader.

Try a different USB device on each of the USB ports on your computer.
Hopefully, all your USB ports are working correctly.

Try a different USB port on your computer.
Hopefully, the SanDisk will be detected on one of the ports.

Try a USB port on a different computer.
If the SanDisk still is not detected, then spend $10 to buy a new 4GB flash-drive.

Usb device not recognize

You mentioned that you uninstalled the unknown device from the Device manager. If you uninstall it then connected your usb flash drive you will see an error again on your device manager. This means that the driver for your usb port is not properly installed.

To install it, visit dell website, look for the model of your machine and locate the driver, download it then install from your machine.

USB device not recognized

This solution worked for me when I got the USB device not recognized message:
http://www.infobarrel.com/USB_Port_Repair
It can be quite frustrating. I've heard that older computers are more likely to have the USB device not recognized message.

if usb flash memory is working on other computer/laptop then do the following step.

Insert the usb flash memory.
Goto desktop, right-click my Computer, click Properties, click on Harware tab, click Device Manager button.

There should be yellow exclamation(!) sign showing Unknown Device
Right-click and select UnInstall.

Reboot your laptop
Insert the usb flash memory.

It should work.

USB Flash memory

i think your flash memory is damaged. Some times When you suddenly unplug your flash disk from USB this might happens. Due to this Operating system cannot read File allocation table from your Flash memory. Just connect with another Pc whether it can read the flash memory. if still fails. then your USB flash memory is damaged.
