SOURCE: HP 1510 - Photo Paper Jams

Hi, try using HP brand photo paper, HP makes their special photo printers and special photo paper for them.
The surface of the back of the HP's paper is rough, like sandpaper to avoid the paper being jammed in the cheap loading mechanism of their actual printers.

SOURCE: laser printer keeps printing hp ads

Hello,
Please perform the following:
If the printer is connected via network, unplug the network cable and perform cold reset.

Cold reset A cold reset changes most system parameters in NVRAM to the factory defaults. However, unlike NVRAM initialization, a cold reset does not reset the page count, the paper tray sizes, language, or formatter number.
A cold reset also resets all the HP Jetdirect settings as well as the printer settings. Use the following procedure to perform a cold reset.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Go button.
  3. Turn the printer on, and continue to hold the Go button for at least 5 seconds, but not longer than 15 seconds. During this process, the Attention LED turns on.
  4. Release the Go button.
If both the Attention and the Ready LEDs turn on before you release the Go button, you must start the procedure again with step 1.
The printer's LEDs begin cycling. The cold-reset process runs until completion, and the printer returns to the ready state.

Then uninstall / delete the previous drivers and install the drivers from the following link:

Ensure u are placing the paper in the photo tray..
if u r printing from the memory card which is inserted in the printer..ensure that the PHOTO BUTTON on the printer is on..
You can also try to reset the printer by going to the SETTINGS/TOOLS menu (RENCH SYMBOL) and then look for the Factory Restore (Might be under "Preferences")

Hi there

Are you printing on photo paper? and they still wet after 20 minutes then this could be the photo paper itself not any good, or the only other thing is your inks, it should not take this long to dry.
I had this myself ones and it was the the photo paper.

All the best Pineworks

Brand new canon ink cartridges but my photographs are printing green. I tried the test print out and it came out ok. Could the photo paper I have be the problem?

Usually if your using the wrong photo paper the ink will come out wet on the print instead of drying while coming out of the tray. Printer settings then need to be changed.

I would also suggest cleaning the print heads. But you say this is a brand new machine. I'm also assuming you are using canon cartridges which would eliminate the head cleaning. Was the software installed ok also. (Driver anyway).

Lines on photo's that i print

Hi,
Usually the refilled cartridge is not guaranteed to print very well. But still the follwowing tips may help you out.
1. Clean the print cartridge nozzles with an ear bud dipped in light water. Dont touch with hands and other materials.
2. Using your printer utility software installed in your machine, activate the clean cartridge functionality (usually HP printers will have such options)
3. Most important tip - Align your print cartridge ( Again using your printer utility software installed in your machine). It will print some sample lines and colors to a paper and you have to enter appropriate details back into the printer utility for proper calibration of your printer. Just follow the steps shown by the printer utility software. This step have to be done even if you install a new cartridge.

If none of the above step solved your problem, then its time to get a new cartridge for your printer.

I hope this is helpful to you :)

Printer stopped printing colour

Are you using Name brand ,new ink cartridges?
Take the color cartridges out and make sure you removed the tape from the bottom of those cartridges. if done already take a wet paper towel and squeeze out the excess water, then lay the damp paper towel folded in half on a flat surface.
Then set the colored in cartridges one at a time with the ink side pressing against the damp paper towel for about 3 min. after 3 min you should see the ink drain on to the paper towel if so then replace the cartridge back into the printer and that should solve your problem.

Can't print pic on glossy photo paper with brother 3in1 printer

First off thanks for using fixya.com

Secondly, it is very difficult to tell exactly which is the problem. I would however put most of my concern in the refill ink. Since it is from a third party and not recommended by the manufacturer this ink may be designed for regular paper only. Ink that is used for photos has a quicker dry time to keep it from running. Since your ink is running it may be that the ink is not designed for photos paper.

You may also be able to drop down your print quality, this will use less ink and may dry faster. This can be access by going into your print settings before printing a photo. With what I have seen in the past, switching over to a manufacturer recommended ink cartridge will probably fix your problem.

I hope this helps you out, but feel free to ask further if needed.

BLANK paper

Hi ankita, this will update your printer drivers:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.

Black colour ?

Thats because it's using the other colours to mix what it thinks to be shades of grey. Due to the black ink being pigment based and the colours inks dye base, when printing onto glossy paper the machine will use the colour dye based inks to make up black.
If you were to print on plain paper, set to greyscale, then the machine will just use the black as the pigment ink sits onto of the plain paper and will not run should the paper get wet.  With glossy paper the ink has to be absorbed into the paper ad the Black pigment ink will not do this so the machine will use the coloured inks.

Sucks but true.

Help! Prints a smeary mess!

it depends on the type of paper you are using.

ink chemicals react to the chemicals on the photo paper.

manufacturers have ¨recommended papers¨ : )

recommendation: ask for paper samples from paper vendors
