Drill a small hole in the bottom piece (the part that is broken off and insert a paper clip or small piece of wire in the shape of a C to act as a catch to fit in either of the 2 holes.

How do i install a replacement spring in a tool catch

it isn't obvious from the pics but if I had to guess u need to get both the catch and the spring (if u lost it) b/c the reason the spring came out is that the catch is already broken.
Once u get it, it simply pops into place.
look at this page - may help

Sears craftsman manuals?

You can't get sears manuals. If you remove the recoil assembly and turn it over you will be able to turn it. If the spring catches and starts to wind then you know your spring is good and you don't have to replace it. If it doesn't spring when wound replace spring. When ready turn till spring is fully wound ( can't wind anymore without force) then back it off until the rope holes line up. Install rope and handle and retract slowly. Pull handle a few times to make sure its not sticking and retracts properly. Reinstall on engine

Brake band 3120xp

This job os not to be taked on lightly, remove the hand guard by taking away the securing screw and pivots, be aware if you remove the roll pin without locking the spring and catch the locking lever can fly out under spring tention, i lock the top of the spring and catch, and the lower end of the spring in a vice ( this means the vice jaw is where the sprocket would sit, so be carful not to damage the cover ) then take the roll pin out, the top catch screws onto a thread on the band, be sure to count how many turns the catch is on the thread and re fit the same on the new band, it does not just bottom out

Rope needs rewound, got tangled up , had to remove the 4 nuts, now need to get in back on wound tight

I assume that you are speaking of a pull start mechanism.
I can not imagine how to put a put pull starter back on "wound tight". Your pulling on the cord tightens a spring which pulls the cord back in. They go back together with the cord fully wound onto the spool.
Usually, I only take these apart to replace the cord. Wind the new cord onto the spool without handle. Reassemble, then pull out on the cord a little when attaching the handle to the cord. This is the only way to get tension onto the spring at the fully retracted position because the catch for the spring is on the machine and the spring itself is on the underside what you are assembling.
If you do not wish to shorten the cord or replace it, then remove the handle, assemble enough to catch the spring, wind one turn tighter then feed rope through hole and reattach handle. Easier said than done.
If your spring is broken, then you will be needing a new one.
:o)

My samsung ml-1630w printers paper tray seems to pop open

Hi,

you may want to check on the try. the try have 2 nod that is holding the spring from releasing. the nod can be located at the try.

2nd you may want to check on the try button, is the spring giving way.

to check on the sping remove the try & toner. but the printer upside down. press on the try button you should be able to see that there is 2 white catch that is holding the try. if the catch has give way. you got to dismantle the printer to adjust it.

I had the same problem, so I took the door apart as explaned above, found it was gunged up with residue from the washihg cycles. Gave it a good clean, while the part was disconected of course, and hay presto! the door works like new again.
