Hi,
Have you tried to calibrate the compass? I find that this has to be done almost evry time I use the GPS. Also make sure the map is oriented with the heading up

Handheld Laser Pointer "Toys" Can Cause Serious Eye Injury

Handheld Laser Pointer "Toys" Can Cause Serious Eye Injury

A 15-year old boy ordered a handheld burning laser pointers online. He wanted it to pop balloons from a distance and play around with, this included burning holes into paper cards and his sister's shoes. Doctors from Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, Lucerne, Switzerland continue explaining in a letter published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) what happened when he used the laser pointer in front of a mirror.

The teenager wanted to create a "laser show" - he faced the mirror and zapped cheap high powered laser pointer beams in several directions. Some of the beams hit his eyes and his vision in both eyes blurred immediately. He did not tell his parents for fear of being told off or perhaps causing unnecessary alarm, and hoped the vision problems would go away.

Two weeks passed and his eyesight problems continued. The boy went to see a health care professional.
The ophthalmic assessment revealed that his eyesight had deteriorated so badly in his left eye that he could only count fingers on a hand at a distance of no more than 3 feet (about 1 meter); his right eye had 20/50 acuity.
An examination of the interior of the eye with an ophthalmoscope detected a dense subretinal hemorrhage in his left macula, there were also several "tiny round scars in the pigment epithelium of the foveolar region of his right eye". The clinician diagnosed bilateral retinal laser injury - injury to both eyes caused by laser beams.
Four months later the boy's eyesight improved, but there were still some problems and scarring.
Laser pointer 1000mw that were sold to the public used to have a maximum power of 5mW, which is not considered harmful for human eyesight. The handheld laser device the boy purchased on the internet was 150mW; 75 times more powerful.

Lasers which are powerful enough to damage human eyesight are generally used only by military personnel, and in such cases accidents and injuries are extremely uncommon.
Laser devices with a potential of up to 700 mW can be bought by anyone on the internet, the Swiss doctors inform. There are government restrictions, but this does not seem to stop these products being available online - they are presented as " green laser pointers ", like the ones lecturers use, and many look just like them.

These extremely powerful devices can cause serious and immediate eye injury. They are advertised as toys, even though they can cause blindness. Teenagers find them fascinating. There are even laser swords and other fun toys with powerful lasers installed inside them.
How is a child who is using one of these devices, and the other kids around him supposed to tell a harmless laser pointer from a dangerous one?the conclude that if the present state of affairs continues, there will be more such eye injurie.

For a rebound adjustment, jack up your bike.
Be sure the front tire is off the ground.
Once this is done let your springer front end fall either to the left or right. Your springer front end should only bounce back about a inch and then stop.

Most people prefer the "Fall-Away" adjustment.
Jack the bike so the front end is off the ground.
Place a piece of tape along the front edge of the front fender.
Find the center balance point of the front end.
Place a pointer of some sort at the center of the fender. Make a mark on the tape for the center balance point. Mark does not have to be in the exact center of the fender.
With the pointer in place, turn front end in each direction and note where the front end just begins to fall away on it's own. Make a mark on the tape at these positions. Marks do not have to be centered and may be unequal distances from the center mark.
Measure the distance between the two outer marks. If the distance is 1-2 inches the fall away is correct. If less than 1", loosen the upper bearing retainer nut. If more than 2", tighten the upper bearing retainer nut.

Like a needle on a record-player, moving over the tracks of a vinyl record,
the disk-drive has a moving read/write head.

Try defragmenting the disk-drive -- this tends to reduce the average distance that the head moves, and decreases the noise-level.

My mouse works when it wants to.

It could be interference or distance from the receiver.
Try moving the receiver. Regular wireless mice can become unstable even at short distances.

How to use that front yard adjustment on Burris fullfield II

That "front yard adjustment" is called the "Parallax adjustment ring". In order to get the sharpest image, and to reduce slight movement of the view when your head is out of alignment with the centerbore of the scope, set the yardage indicator at the distance you are shooting. You can fine tune the sharpness of the image by turning the ring slightly in either direction once you have made the initial setting. Most distance indicators are off slightly from the actual best setting.

Compass in 3 parts on the screen

This is normal! The compass looks like this in "course pointer" mode.
When you're looking at the described compass screen, press the lower left button and notice the line "bearing pointer". When you select that line and push the front joystick, you'll notice that the compass needle is "normal" again . And when you push the lower left button again, you'll see that the line has changed into "course pointer". Pushing the joystick again toggles between those two modes. The shifted needle indicates how far you drifted from the course that your route follows. See page 31 of the English manual for details.
