Question about Mitsubishi WS-48311 48" Rear Projection Television
Picture has become a bit skewed - can't read bottom scroll text on some channels. And the time out indicators on fox football at top of screen. Wanted to adjust vertical size and perhaps keystone distortion. I found a service manual online and was able to enter the tech menus (menu, 2-2-7-0 for example) yesterday. I just browsed the menus yesterday, didnt change anything. Today tv does nothing when I punch in the codes. Not sure what's up. Put new batteries in remote but no dice. Menu button works, number buttons work to enter a channel number. But when I try to enter a tech menu code it doesn't respond.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Mitsubishi TV troubleshooting
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Make sure your remote is the official Mit remote, and that it is set for TV, usually the far left setting at the top of the remote.
These remotes control many different devices. Some will allow video to work without allowing audio to work.
TV will allow all to work.

Check to make sure the channel down button is not stuck. If it is not the button is probably defective. Mits has had a lot of problems with the buttons.

I had same problem and discovered one of the little buttons on the front of the TV was stuck down. Don't know why, unless the maid bumped it hard as we never use them. Anyway, I poked/wiggled a few times at each button and the problem stopped.
