Try to format your USB Drive if that is not formatted yet. On your my computer you will see the USB drive right click on it then click reformat after reformat the computer will now recognize the available size of your device. Because if that the first time you to plug in a computer, the computer will not recognize if your USB is NFTS format or a FAT32 format.

Cannot open.delete reformat my 4gb kingston usb.when i tried to reformat it, says that windows cannot complete reformat

if you are having problems with your 2 gb kingston hard drive and want to format it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you should see a yellow question mark?
right click to reinstall drivers
if you can see your usb drive but its not working
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts
click start control panel administrive tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in both boxes then select check now start or you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive
click start click on my computer you should see your drive
then if you still need to format right click then select format
another way is to control panel administrive tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select format
hope this helps you:

How can i unprotect my kingston data traveler 4gb usb flash drive? i cannot save data and when i reformat it it said it is in write protect.

if there is a switch on the side that changes colour from white to red that is the write protect, you may also have reached the capacity of writes to the card and this is also why it is saying write protected as it cant write to it anymore. These flash drives do have a high amount of writes for its life, but if you have been using it as a memory booster for vista or win 7 then those read and writes will soon mount up.

Hello, Is it on any computer that your flash drive cannot be read?

Try putting the USB flash drive into a different slot USB on your computer.

There could be a number of reasons for this problem.

If you are using a USB Hub, try removing it and plug the drive directly into the USB port on the computer. I have a Dell laptop running Win 2k and sometimes have the same problem.
