Double check model number. Make sure you're getting 120v to the valves.

SOURCE: Front load washer fills up with water

Jamesbestor,

The water fill selenoid had junk in it holding the valve open or the seat in the valve is damaged.
Turn off the power and water, remove two screws on the back of the machine and remove the lid.
On the back left top corner are the water fill selenoids. Remove these and disassemble by undoing the 6 or 8 screws ( depending upon model ) holding the unit together. Clean and reassemble, it should take care of the problem. If not, replace the selenoid.

SOURCE: My whirlpool front loader washer leaks water

Check the rubber boot just inside the door. You have to push the drum back slightly and rub your fingers around the entire boot. I had a similar problem and a key had fallen out of a pocket and cut into that boot. The leak would run out of the damaged boot then come out the bottom onto the floor. I purchased a new boot and it took me about 30 min to install it. The problem was solved. If the rubber boot is fine then the over soap thing is probably your problem.

Duet front load - water fills while door is open!

This is a leaking solonoid valve.
The valves are located just inside the machine where the water supply hoses attach.
  • Remove the power plug
  • Undo the top lid of the washer
  • The valves will have some internal pipes clamped on their outlets. Remove the pipes.
  • Dry the valve outlets with tissue.
  • Turn on the water supply to the washer (if it was off)
  • Watch the open valve outlets for seepage.

There may be between 1 and 3 valves depending on the model.
You should be able to replace the leaking valve quite easily.

Washer is stopped mid cycle

Is there buzzing? Check that BOTH water inlets are turned on. A common issue is the hoses get reversed, and machine runs fine until Dad gets the hot water bill, and turns off the hot faucet, and the machine will wait forever for the water....

Our temperature control isn't working. If we put

You must have water to both inlets. Even with cold/cold, Your washer will mix the water some. Detergent will not activate if your water is extremely cold as it comes straight from the ground.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II won't fill up with water

Please provide the exact Model number in your reply.

I realize you indicated you had checked the hoses, but check the filter screen at each end of the hoses, and inside the water inlets of the washing machine. If mineral buildup has broken loose inside the lines, it will plug those screens (My neighbor had a similar problem happen to him a couple of months ago, in a bathroom, where 2 sinks, a shower, and the tub, all clogged due to mineral buildup breaking loose inside the pipe system.
