the left ear does not work and the right one does when i plug it into any device, i tried taking them apart and when i oppened them the wires all seemed to be in place, i have tried taking apart the other one to compare and nothing seemed to be different. the one thing i noticed about the ear that did not work was that the copper wireing was a little unspun, the connection was fine but the middle of the wire was unspun(im not too sure how to describe it), any explanations will be very appretiated. thankyou

You will have to test the wiring from the plug to the speakers individually with a volt ohm meter. Wires this thickness break or go intermittent easily. Don't take them apart if they are still on warranty. Take them back to where you bought them and get replacements. Be sure to take the original packaging if you still have it and the sales receipt.

My Skullcandy Hesh headphones have messed up sound with my ipod

I would say that if they work fine with other devices then your input jack on your ipod is bad. First I would plug other headphones into your Ipod and see if the problem persists. If not the case then I would plug in your headphones into a known working device and wiggle the wire at the connection point to see if you can duplicate the problem. If this does happen then you need to replace the connector (1/8th inch stereo male plug) on your headphones.

My skullcandy agent headphones are only working on the left side,,,,,its blank on the left side

Sounds like there may be a problem with the cord.
Try plugging in your headphones and playing some music and moving the cord around. If the sound cuts in and out then you have a lose connection and will need to replace your headphones.

Blown headphones

I'm also a stickler for sound I was devastated when my iPod touch headphone jack broke. I think it's impossible to find a pair of headphones that never blow. I'm using skullcandy lowriders at the minute and they are great except you can hear the sound coming out of the headphones from a mile away. I would reccomend sending your headphones back to Bose or wherever you brought it from. Most stores have a 1 year return guarantee on all products. Hope I was of help, Jess.

My skullcandy lowrider left headphone won't work on my iPod touch

Wiggle the plug once it has been plugged in and the radio is on. If it is intermittent then it's the male plug. This is a common failure. If you are able to solder then you can get replacement plugs at Radio Shack. If there is no change, and there will be if it's the plug, then the problem is in the wiring or the speaker. If it looks easy to disassemble then check it. All you will have is two thin wires and a strand of white nylon, (for strength). It will require a bit of soldering but it's relatively easy and worth the effort if you like the headphones. If the wires look ok then most likely it's a separation in the wiring. If that's the case save yourself the headache and toss them.

Jack plug broken off

Buy a $4.00 1/8" jack replacement from Radio Shack - part # 274-0869, which has small screw connectors that don't need soldering.
Strip about 1" of the braided insulation at the old jack end, which will expose 4 very small wires: Blue, Green, Red, Copper.

Attach the Green & Copper wires to the tallest pin on the replacement jack.

Attach the Red to the shortest pin, and the Blue to the medium pin.

Remember to slide the jack cover onto the headphone cord before attaching any wires!

This works great, I just did it.

Loose Wire, please help

You will have to buy a replace ment jack and solder the connections. These cords seem to have different colors between manufacturers but start by soldering the green or blue (left) to the tip of the plug, the next ring to the red(right) wire and the base to the copper(ground) wire. Try to get a plug with a metal shield that unscrews and make sure you thread the cable through the shield right way around( threads towards plug before you solder.

I cant use my microphone on my skullcandy lowrider headphones

OK OK OK, the lowriders use dolby digital with WMA playback, and there is a setting in ur xbox settings where u can change that. BUT UR NOT DONE YET. press the Xbox button, go to settings go to prefrences, go to mic and check the box that sais "play through both." and now u can hear the ppl and talk. however, what they dont tell u is that the mic interfears with the WMA, so all u need to do is just buy an inline volume adjuster at walmart (wally world) for like 3 bux (the one that coems with it is regualted by FDA or wtvr and has no sound which is verry unlike skull candy). THESE headsetes arnt cheaply made at all 2 tell the truth, they shooda came with instructions, but once u get em going, they r insane! i have a pair of turtle beach x5s and its nice, but not as good asthe lowriders. and anotehr feture they dont tell u, if u get a volume adjuster with the "base gain" swicth, it works on the lowriders, so u can add a little rumble and umph to ur headset.

Skullcandy earbuds one earbud not working

It is likely that your right stereo channel has either been severed somehow or there is a severe short in one of the cables. What you can try to do to test this theory is first turn on your music. Then wiggle the cable at the very base of the right earbud. If nothing happens wiggle the cord right where it connects to the stereo jack. If still nothing happens run your fingers along the right earbud audio cable bending and twisting it. If at any point you hear music again then you likely have a short. If it is near the earbud then it is going to be difficult to fix since these earbudfs have a large gauard. If the short is at the stereo jack then the fix is simple. A standard 1/8" stereo jack can be purchased from any electronics or audio store. You can then fairly easily seperate teh old stereo jack and solder this new one in place. Search the internet for tutorials on how to do this if need be. Even if you do not get any kind of sound when wiggling it at the base of the jack this is the most likely culprit since this is where most of the stress on the headphones occur. Be wary though, if you do attempt a stereo jack repair you will void whatever kind of warranty your earbuds may have so check before you try. But, in teh end you may end up saving a 60-100 dollar set of earbuds for 5-8 dollars. Hope this helped.
