Question about HP VP6310 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Projector I have a projector that makes a funny chirping sound after its been only a few minutes. at first it appears to be working fine then within 2 minutes the color changes, image flickers then the projector powers off. like its ran hog then the Lamp Led blinks. i read some forums that said it was the color wheel sensor. If so. where can i find one? i've searched the web and found nothing. not even a price.

The sound came from the switching power supply and the lamp ballast circuitary. You need to replace the color wheel sensor, I can fix it.

  • Secure the lamp cover and the air filter cover of the projector body if the projector does not power on. Ensure that the power cable is firmly connected to the projector and an active power plug. If the projector was turned off and then on quickly--let it sit for 90 seconds before trying to turn it on.

  • 2
Replace the projection lamp if the projector will not power on or if the lamp indicator is flashing. Turn off the projector and let it sit for at least 30 minutes. Locate the lamp cover and remove or loosen the lamp cover with a screwdriver. Carefully remove the projection lamp from the projector housing using the handle, if available.

  • 3
Place the new projection lamp into the projector housing and secure it to the projector. Replace the lamp cover and reset the lamp timer. Power on the projector to ensure the new lamp is working correctly.

  • 4
Remove the projector from the enclosed area to allow air circulation if it constantly overheats. Place the projector into an open area and make sure there is no blockage for the ventilation holes. Unplug the projector for at least 45 minutes to allow it to soft reset.

  • 5
Clean the air filter to allow the projector better air circulation. Turn off the projector and unplug it from the outlet. Remove the air filter cover and use a vacuum to remove dust from the area. If the filter is unable to be cleaned correctly or is damaged, then replace it. Pull the air filter from the projector and place the new one in the now empty slot. Close and secure the air filter cover.

I have sanyo projector model PDG-DSU20E. Few white spots appeared on the right side of the screen. Gradually the spots has filled the right side about 1 feet is width till bottom of the screen. Now few...

1,white spots appeared on screen, means the DMD is broken, you need a new DMD.
2,the projector running off after only a few minutes, means the Inductor (Sensing element),near the Color Wheel. Use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to wipe the Inductor.

Have a good day!

I start up my screen play 5000 and no startup menu appears or no picture, the lamp is working as the projection is white only. What is wrong. Regards: Shane Cook

The Projector was sitting unplugged for about a year, after having the projector plugged in for a while I disconected from the power for about a minut and then plugged the power back in.
I guess the battery within the Projector had no power.

THE LAMP IS OFF AFTER A FEW MINUTES

I just did it, I took the filter out and then I cleaned it. After that all I did was reset the lamp and filter times which were at 160 for me, and now it works just fine. if the bulb goes out then maybe its time for a new lamp =(

Loss of picture

Yes, it is the projector.
Take the filter out and vaccum it, take the lamp out and use compressed air to clean the dust away.
Be carefull witt the air thoug! keep it a bit away from the projector when u cleand the dust away, to close and you can make big mamages inside it.
And, remeber to keep the filter as cleas as possible, i clean min every 2,5-3 monthes.

Good luck
