My car will not crank at all

great symptom, we speak dead cranks.
  1. do jumper cable to donor runnning car crank now?>
  2. yes, bad or just discharged battery (and causes more)
  3. no, then hot wire the starter solenoid.
  4. cranks no ? then the starter is bad (bad cables)
cranks yes, then the key line is dead.
if key line is dead, wiggle shifter, cranking, or try neutral,
neutral cranks work because the contacts are virgin there.
see?
i guessed A/T tranny so if im wrong, do SAY !

2008 MDX will not start just clicks

corroded battery terminals, clean them, and try jumper cables.
both way use same crappy terms.
what transmission A/T or M/T my guess, A/T
so wiggle the gear shift, try neutral starts. this is the PRNDL switch
wiggling it finds new fresh brass on the switch contacts,
wiggle as you crank the key.
if that fails
then hot wire the starter solenoid.
if that act causes cranking, then the starter and battery and cables are good. and means the KEY LINE is bad.
if no crank , hot wired, then that means the starter bad. (battery good , battery charged in all cases)

see hot wiring here.

in a nut shell
1: battery charged at 12.6vdc. rested.
2: chock wheels, all brakes set., in PARK (or M/T in neutral.)
3: gain access to the starter
4: unplug the key line (that is the tiny wire) on starter solenoid.
5: keys in pocket
6: jumper the solenoid tiny wire, to the big outboard lug on solenoid.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
it wont start, keys are in pocket.
the starter is good, i save you 1/2 the diagnosis. in 1 simple step
put the wire back removed in #4
if its dead, the KEY line is dead. ask how to fix that. next. i f so be...

is car a A'T or M/T auto or stick?
if auto, wiggle the gear shifter, cranking,
if Stick wiggle the clutch, cranking.
got a volt meter?. is battery at 12.6v ?

if battery is good, hot wire the solenoid
crank now? yes, then key line is dead.
if not, the starter, battery or cables are bad.

try jump starting it. if that works the battery was
1; bad.
2; not charged, and ALTenator system is bad. note i said system.

No key for a schlage dead bolt i like to rekay

If you don't know how to open a lock cylinder in your hand, you probably should take it to a professional locksmith. They don't charge much to rekey a lock that you bring into the shop, and they can usually do it in under ten minutes. Twelve minutes if you don't bring a key that can open it.

That said, you can open it by shimming with a key blank and a shim, bumping with a bump key, removing the slide or top of the cylinder, picking with a pick, pick gun, or electric pick, key picking it, using tryout keys, rapping it open with a hammer handle, or simply wiggling every old key you can find in it until it either turns or you run out of old keys.

No power ig when turn key

old posts zero answers. what year, no year stated.?
great post, Key does nothing" clear
and is called NO CRANK, if it cant crank it cant start (m/t push starting might)
any time its a no crank,
check ALL FUSES.
1: if A/t wiggle gear shift (P then try Neutral) N might work.
2: if M/T , wiggle clutch , near floor pressed.

if CEL lamp is dead, key on, the fuses are blown.
the CEL must glow key on, or Fuses blown.
easy huh?

Key won't turn, won't shift from Park

My 2003 Saturn l200 2.2 ecotec did this when the battery was dead. Put some juice on the battery, then the car came out of park, and I was able to remove the key. To the car, there's a vast difference between a sluggish battery and a dead battery. It may have enough amps to crank it, but it wont start w/out full output from the battery.

My car won't start and key won't come out.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your vehicle is NOT fixed. Fuses do not just go around blowing to make your day miserable - ESPECIALLY not a 60 Amp MAXI fuse! That is some SERIOUS stuff!

There is apparently an intermittent dead short to ground in one of your main power circuits if one of those are blowing. It WILL do it again if you do not locate the problem and repair it. I just hope you get it fixed before it burns your vehicle to the ground.

How do I change wiper blades 2001 Chevy blazer

Open the cap at the end of the windshield wiper arm at the cowl of the Blazer. This will reveal the bolt that secures the wiper arm to the wiper linkage.
Unbolt the wiper arm using a 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Place the bolt to the side, as you will reuse it later.
Pull the wiper arm up at the blade so that the blade of the wiper is pointing into the air. Then pull at the base of the arm, wiggling it slightly. It's a keyed gear, so it may take a little bit of workunderlined.png?1 to break it free, but with the right amount of wiggling, it will disengage.

Where do you hook cables to jump start

A lot of people will tell you to hook the good car with the negative on a bolt for ground, I have never had luck with that, never had luck with hooking either car to a bolt, always went right to the battery, hot to hot, neg to neg, If there is no connection, wiggle the cables while turning the key, It should catch. Make sure the donor car is running or you will have 2 dead batteries. Check the water in the dead battery, I have seen them come back to life with just water added. Hope this helps.
