What button sequence to you use on the Lexmark c792 to get into invalid engine codes
SOURCE: invalid engine code
The easiest way to solve this is to work through Lexmark Technical Support.
Their web site may have the correct engine code on their site, but installation of the code can be tricky.
Are you getting a 900 Invalid Engine code message?

Try putting the old fuser back and see if it gets rid of the error, then if that's the case the new fuser is defective. If not, here's a link to the Lexmark website which gives you instructions on what to do when having that "Invalid Engine Code" error message. http://bit.ly/9D61W3. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Sounds like you've experienced a fairly common problem with Lexmark Optra printers. The engine board has more than likely failed. Rather than go to to Lexmark, try this site for a less expensive replacement board...

Testimonial: "Quick reply to a standard problem with Lexmark printer boards Thanks!"
This is actually a Lexmark printer, so what I'm quoting is a Lexmark sol.
turn off machine
hold down returnand go buttons
turn on printer
hold until performing test shows and let go of buttons
it will go to a service mode ( instead of saying ready)
got to printer set up
hit select button
go to engine 1,2 or 3
try each one ( hit select to go into that perticular number)
what you are looking for is a number that has an * next to it. Use the arrow keys to scroll. most likely it changed the setting so go and look for that number w/the * and hit select when you see it.
