How do i clean canister of dirt devil featherlight bagless caniter vacuum

Hi there! To clean the canister or dirt cup, first remove the dirt cup from the vacuum. Twist off the dirt cup lid. Remove the pleated filter and empty the dirt cup. Tap the filter against the trash can until the dirt stops falling. If the filter is really dirty it may need to be replaced. The filter should be replaced every 6 months. I have included a link where you may go to purchase a replacement filter if needed.

Thanks! Hope this helps!

No suction means no air can pass through it. Clean the filter compartment, rinse the filter off with water and let dry before reinstalling it. I suspect you need to disconnect the brushes and clean them too.

My Dyson Ball DC 25 made very loud noise when I put the hepa filter back on. I just washed the hepa filter and it had been dried for more than 24 hours. After I took off the filter, the sound was normal....

It sounds like it could need replaced or there is something stopped up in it somewhere . Clean all the crevices in it dirt could possibly be congested in it . If it still does it after you clean it out change the filter .

Getting mist thru exhaust...according to your website i need to take out the filter...how do i do that?...i have craftsman model wetvac that doubles as a bllower..thanks

Pull the blower out from the lid. flip it over and your should see 3 or 4 screws that hold the filter cover on. remove those screws, remove the filter cover, then remove the filter. It is a dirty job. Most often the filter can be beaten clean. Some are washable. Clean or replace then reinstall. Good luck!

Hello,

This is a pretty clear indication that your filter is clogged and needs to be replaced. HEPA filters are different then say pre-motor filters, or sponge filters. Because they are usually the last filter before the air is exhausted, it's usually catching very tiny microscopic particles. Because of this, trying to determine if the filter is dirty or clogged can be difficult, if not impossible on HEPA pleated exhaust filters.

The fact that your filters continues popping out, indicates that the air is not being able to pass through the filter as it's supposed to, and is instead the air is having to try and find a different way to escape, causing the force of the back up of air to blow the filter out.

I think if you replace this filter, it should fix the problem completely. Because this filter is designed to capture microscopic particles rather then large particles, washing this filter, or getting it wet is not advised, and wouldn't be an effective way to clean it. You really will need to replace the filter soon, but if you'd like to try and prolong the life of your filter, you may use an air compressor, and blow from the top of the filter (the area that looks clean), and clear the microscopic particles, and dust out of the filter this way. If you suffer from breathing issues, asthma, or allergies, I would highly advise against doing this without a mask on. The dust that will come out is extremely fine dust that can cause people with the above conditions to suffer greatly. Doing this outdoors is highly recommended.

An air compressor can certainly prolong the life of HEPA filters, but again, sooner or later you'll need to replace the filter.

If you're in need of buying one of these filters, you're in luck! We carry these filtes on our site, and they are in stock. Here's a link back to the filter on our site if you need to order one. I got a new filter for my Beam central vacuum. How do I replace it? Do I take off the top lid of the canister?

You would not normally need to replace the filter unless it is damaged. Access is from inside the tank itself. Remove the bucket and locate the finger loop on the existing filter. Pull toward the inside of the bucket. Replace the filer by setting in it's track and snapping tight to the wall of the vac. Unless damaged you can save and clean the old filter for reuse.

Cleaning filter on the Dyson Slim

You don't have to clean the HEPA filter (underneath the canister in that clear part) - if you break that clear part you will cause damage to the machine and it won't **** anymore as the air will escape. There is no need to remove it or replace it, it is a lifetime filter. You only have to clean the blue filter that is inside the top of the canister/dirt bin.

I need to clean the main filter

Be sure you wash the filter that is above the canister compartment. It has an orange lever to release it. I over looked this the first year I had the vaccume, dust was really caked in there. I also just wash out the inside of the canister with water once in awhile.
