Recovery for ACER Aspire PC w/Vista

I bought my Pc in December 2007. On 08/15/08 my nephew took down my firewall to look at Porn, over the next few days I noticed alot of pop-ups. So I did a Back up and Restore on 08/18/08, this was the first time I used the back up and restore, apparently I was supposed to do his when I bought the PC. So I can't use the back up and restore system to fix my current problems, my computer runs slow, freezes up and generally just runs like ****. I was told I could do a system Recovery, which would take my PC back to the way it was when I purchased it. HHHHHHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP

I would recomend copying all your files to a USB drive or a blank DVD then press Ctrl and F10 when you rebot to restore to original condition when you purchased it.

After that make backups andn use a good antivirus/firewall like comodo internet security.

Your options are either go to Acer for a replacement Vista recovery DVD or
Install a borrowed Vista DVD, must be same Vista Basic, Home Premium,
then use your registered CD key, normally located on the side or rear of your tower.
It will also tell which Vista type you have. You then must go to the Acer support site
and install then drivers for the componenets in you computer.
You will not have any other software installed that may have come with your
original setup from Acer. This option requires more work on your part, but
no cost to you. Acer will charge for a Recovery DVD, plus S&H.

You may be able to purchase a recovery disk from Acer.
Failing that if you have the Windows installation CD you can boot up with the Windows CD and run Repair.
If you do not have a Windows installation CD, you might be able to borrow one BUT check the Windows label on the bottom of the notebook for the Windows version and the Product installation code.
Make sure the Windows CD matches the version that is printed on the label.
You may need to install the Acer device drivers again then -
Download the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure youselect the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers youthat require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on yourlaptop. Use this link to get to the Acer support: -

Acer Aspire 9300-3716 password

My advice to you is technical. You need to reset the CMOS on the motherboard internally. As for the password in vista unless you know it you will more than likely have to re-install vista or do a systme recovery by using the e-recovery partition that comes stock with ACER computers. I do not advise you to try resetting the cmos if your not technically capable

How do I reinstall Windows Vista w/o CD

You have to call the customer support of the service provider until they know that it is messed up so bad that you have to send it back. If it is still in warranty, then they will tell you to send it back in a box that they send to you.
