I have two lg lrm-519 dvr's both power supply's went out about 4 months apart where can i get this fixed?

I have repaired two different LRM-519 that both had the same problem. The repair was a simple replacement of two capacitors on of the power supply board of each unit. You can search the web for repair instructions, or even search youtube for a video of the repair.

If you have the same problem I had then when you turn on your recorder it will only display the Hello message on the front of the unit (perhaps very dim) and the blue light on the power button will come on. Your next step is to open the device (about 7 screws) and slide the top off, then examine the tops of the capacitors on the power supply, if the tops of one or more are bulging up then this is a good candidate for attempting this repair.

For parts I found some on ebay and searching the web. If you don't want to do the repair yourself I have also seen people offer the power supply repair on ebay.

Lg lrm-519 went into demo mode. Can't get it back

follow directions from the owners manual. while unit is powered up, unplug power cord from back of unit - wait 5-seconds. Depress the DVD open/close button while re-plugging the power supply cord to the unit. LG splash appears onscreen and unit goes into re-set. you do not loose any of you programing or settings.

LRM-519 bad picture after replacing capacitors

be sure to check and see if any of the capacitors get hot because once they reach a temperature beyond 105 degrees C. they are basically no good and don't work nearly as well as when they were first manufactured. Also you may want to make sure that you have soldered the capacitors with the long black line on the same position that is engraved on the circuit board where they are supposed to be mounted too.

Winston,  without more exact details it would be difficult to give you suitable parts information.    Here is another option for your consideration.    http://cgi.ebay.com/LG-LRM-519-Digital-Media-Recorder-160-GB_W0QQitemZ160305698554QQcmdZViewItem

Installation of LG LRM DVD Recorder Model 519

be more specific with the problems you're having. following the instructions should be straight-forward. if you are using composite cables from the unit to your tv, be sure the composite/480i/480p switch is et to "composite". it'sa small black switch on the back of the unit. make your selection while the unit is powere off. Finally, the composit cables are usually plugged in to the "AV" inputs on the TV -- make sure you set your TV's input to "AV"
