Vitrifrigo 3 ways fridge in campervan not working on batteries

The Vitrifigro (Model 5060, dated 2006) in my second-hand campervan works OK on gas and mains power but not on house battery power. The indicator light for battery power clicks on and off continually and there is no cooling, even though the house batteries are fully charged. However, when driving and the batteries (house and starter batteries) are all receiving charge from the alternator, the fridge works OK. I have previously gone back to the campervan dealer about the fridge and he replaced a fuse, which seemed to fix the problem but only for a while. I would be grateful if someone on Fixya could throw some light on this frustrating trouble before I go back to the dealer again.

I have now read in a motorhome users's manual that running the fridge on the house batteries while the vehicle is stationary will drain them flat in less than an hour, so it seems that the answer is to use the batteries only while driving and to switch over to mains power or gas when stationary. I am obviously still learning about using a motorhome successfully!

You can fit a relay connected through the vehicle ignition that will prevent the fridge running on 12V unless the motor is running, this way you will not drain the battery.

Hi just bought campervan which has an electrolux rm 2200 fitted we are unable to use it on 12v but works well on mains.

was the engine running on vehicle when you tried to operate 12v mode. From the user manual it needs the fridge cooled down on gas or mains first and it will only operate at 12V if the engine is running to prevent vehicle battery running flat.

I need to know how to set a h005 haffstreuner watch after battery change

This is for the HA005:
1. Pull the crown out to the 2nd position.
2. Turn the crown to set hour and minute hands.
3. When the crown is pushed back to the normal position, small second hand begins to run.
1. Pull the crown out to the 1st position.
2. Turn the crown clockwise to set the date.
*If the date is set between the hours of around 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, the date may not change on
the following day.
3. After the date has been set, push the crown back to the normal position.
This procedure shoud be performed when the chronograph second hand does not return to zero position
after the chronograph has been reset, and including after the battery has been replaced.
1. Pull the crown out to the 2nd position.
2. Press button "A" to set the chronograph second hand to the zero position. The chronograph hand can
be advanced rapidly by continuously pressing button "A".
3. Once the hand have been zeroed, return the crown to the normal position.
* Do not push crown to normal position while the chronograph second hand returns to zero position. It
stops on the way when crown are returned to normal position and its position is recognized as zero

How do i remove a campervan fridge safely

You cannot repair an ammonia leak on an absorption fridge. You could try to weld the pipework, but how would you recharge the mixture?

Electrolux 3 way fridge will not work on 12v or 240,switch lights up, ok on gas. can i repaire?or have i got to replace? i think the model No is rm4200 or rm4230

Hi My three way fridge has the same problem. Have solved the 12v problem as it was not wired to the 12v invertor. Do you have an on board battery supply? the 12v is usless and runs a battery flat in no time. Better off to use gas. Hope to have the electrician here next week to check 240v so will let you know if we find a problem. Graham.

Refer Norcold DE 0051 not getting cold

Your cooling unit is shot, I suggest. Most likely, you've lost the R341 refrigerant. Norcold, so they can sell you another cooling unit at $500+, does not make these little fridges with a service port so you can recharge the system. Same with Dometic. Solution is to spend, again, $500+ for a new sealed unit that will fail in relatively short order (I'm on my second in five years) or buy a better refrigerator. I'm opting for a new fridge this go around (Vitrifrigo). Vitrifrigo has the needed service port.
