Question about Samsung NV3 Digital Camera

5 Answers

Mp3 problems I've spent many hours trying to add mp3s to this camera. I know the mp3s are on the SD card but when i open the MP3 player in the camera it can't find any files. Does anyone have any suggestions? i'm pretty much out of ideas at this point. This is meant to be easy. Is there something I am totally missing? I've read the manual VERY carefully but still nothing. Thanks JayShe

Re: mp3 problems

Hi,, i had this problem and pondered for hours, theres no need to format, well in my case i didnt,

eventually i did this

1. plug camera into usb and turn on camera,
or put ur SD card into ur computer and open up my computer (you should se removable disk F) or if ur using SD card you will see and SD card icon,

2. i then found out that many mp3 files are restricted so i imported them into the my itunes libary, this changed all songs to the mp3 file,

3. back to the camera, double click the (removable disk F) and u will see DCIM on the same level as this creat and "MP3" folder, then click that and open it up.

4. go to ur itunes libary and drag and drop into this folder, once imported into the Mp3 folder, unplug ur camera or take the SD card out of the computer and place it back in.

5. turn ur camera on and spin the wheel to ps3 u will see an open icon open it and ur songs will be there

hope that helped

Re: mp3 problems

Hi guys, I think I have it. You need to format the memory card again - I do not know why but it worked for me.

I did lose everythingthing stored on my memory card so do download it to your PC first if you are afraid to lose it.

Check that your MP3 files are not copy protected - saw that comment elsewhere.

With the NV3 disconnected from the PC turn it on. You need to set your dial to AUTO. Press Menu button. Down to "Format" and select "yes". Once done press menu.

Assuming you already have an album of mp3 files ready .../album/*.mp3
where * is the filename you have chosen.

Connect your PC to the NV3 camera and turn on the NV3.

Next at the same level as DCIM create a folder named MP3 eg D:/DCIM and also D:/MP3

Copy your album with MP3 files into the MP3 directory creating D:/MP3/album/*.mp3

Turn off the NV3,disconnect the USB cable and turn the dial to MP3.

Turn on the NV3 and hopefully you will now find the tracks listed. I hope this works now for you too. Enjoy.

Re: mp3 problems

Create a directory called MP3 and add your mp3's under it. It should already have a DCIM directory there for the images.

My R967 got a little moisture on my last fishing trip to canada, so I took the battery out and memory card and blew it with a blow dryer, it had blue stips in the monitor and I kept it on the charger for a...

actually the moisture must have entered the leads of the display...

the leads should be removed and then it should be dried so take the moisture off..

better take it to a service is risk to manually operate the sensitive parts inside and you could end up damaging the display

Wot is the memory card slot for

The memory slot is an expansion slot that you can put a camera card (SD card) into so you save all you photo's to that instead of the internal memory.
This is because your camera only has a limited amount of internal memory limiting you to the amount of pictures you can save on the camera.

Purchasing a memory (SD card) is certainly an advantage and they can be used in card readers, MP3 players and computers etc.

How to get music on to the 3.0 megapixel Digital Video Camera DXG

refer to your users manual.

The DXG-305V has the ability to play MP3 files. Only song files in the MP3 file
format can be played in the MP3 function. Files on CDs are usually in the
Windows Media format (.wma) or wav format and cannot be played in their
native format; they must first be converted into MP3 files. This can be
accomplished with many types of software which are available at little or no
Once the songs are in the MP3 format, they can be transferred to the MP3 folder
in the camera’s onboard memory or onto the SD card. This can be
accomplished by one of two ways: 1.) Attach the USB cable to the camera,
select “Mass Storage” and then use your PC to find the removable hard drive
( the camera / SD card). Once located, drag and drop the MP3 files into the MP3
folder. NOTE: Two removable hard drives will be visible if the camera has an SD
card inserted. 2.) The other way is to place the SD card into a card reader,
locate the MP3 folder, and drag and drop the MP3 files into the MP3 folder. The
card can then be re-inserted into the camera.
Once the files are in the MP3 folder, they can be played by rotating the mode dial to the mp3 mode

Sd card trouble

Try a format - The below was refrencing an mp3 player, but it will work same way for you. The below was copyed from an earlier post of mine. Over a period of time your info can get corrupt from transering music back and forth. To format plug it in to usb. Go to my computer It shows up as a removably disc, usually drive f: Right click on drive f: (or the approriate drive) and click format. Let me know what happens, you will have reload the player, also try bypassing the software you are using to tranfer, by opening up drive f: and clicking and dragging your music into it , or you can copy and paste it into drive f: L8R

Trouble with memory card

I suspect that you did not format the card with the camera before you started using it. The card MUST be formated by the camera before anything is put on the card. you can solve this by inserting the card into a card reader and using the computer to delete all files and folders on the card. Then put the card into the camera and format the card with the camera. do not use the computer to format the card. i hope this will help.

Transferring mp3 files from memory card onto computer

Those multifunction devices require several drivers. I assume you loaded the drivers onto the computer. It sounds like you are using a memory card that already has MP3 files on it. That may be a problem if the camera or software is expecting to see the files in a certain folder on the card. Try uploading MP3 files to the camera and then see if you can move it back to the computer. Since you just got it, check and see how much time you have to return it to the store. If you have a bit of time, check out the help section of Aiptek's website.
